My room being empty was when it began to hit me that a new chapter in my life would be beginning as i finish the pages of this story. i sigh when i tape up the last box and find myself gazing at the pieces of art i left behind that scattered the corner of my room. the closet being emptied and the clouds on my ceiling still staring down at me with intricate shades.
i knew i would miss being with my family and in the presence of my own home everyday. nyu was close to where we lived in new jersey. however i thought that dorming would be a good experience. as i take one last look i can hear the creaking of my door open and that causes my body to turn to see ethan. a smile is now present on my face when he is suddenly here. "hey, pretty boy." i say and he grins when coming near me to peck my lips.
"hey, got everything ready?" i nodded when he asks me this. i get the last two boxes that were near my window and glances outside for a moment realizing the warmth of the summer has been mostly gone. it was now replaced with some frigid winds and the leaves turning colors. yet, as i am distracted, ethan takes the boxes from my hands and begins to bring them downstairs in a borrowed jeep filled with our numerous things.
i soon follow him when taking my book bag of important things and head downstairs as well. the front door is still opened and i find my dad on the couch reading the newspaper. he notices my figure, however, when he puts it down and stands up. "got everyone done?" i nod with a sad smile present.
"i'm going to miss you dad."
he only lets a simper process as well. he comes closer and pulls me into a hug. "i will too. more than you will ever know, sweetheart." his words make me emotional and i take a deep breath trying to swallow down the tears. when i pull apart he wipes them away and then claps his hands together. "i think it's your time to leave me." he concludes and i nod still slightly saddened by the action of my leaving.
"yeah, he's right. we should get going now if we want to beat traffic, babe." ethan then speaks up and i glance over to the boy to agree with him.
"yeah, you're right."
"and you're sure you don't need me to go?"
i shake my head from his question with a soft smile. "no, we'll be good dad. i'll have ethan so." i assure him and he grins at me when he nods.
"alright, well make sure to give me a call when you're all packed up or get to your room." i nod as well when i give my father a kiss on his cheek and hug him one last time until i would see him again.
"love you, dad."
"love you too, sweetheart."

with the music that played and the pictures that moved from the car's speed it hit me a little harder that i would be in college. quite actually, it had caused nervousness to uprise in my stomach when i took deep breath when we neared the area. "just relax, aurora. i'm right here." ethan now had a sense of noticing when there was anxiousness within my actions now.
i was grateful for it yet also, slightly annoyed that he could read me so easily. but at this moment a faint smile appears. he squeezes my thigh in reassurance letting my hand go over his. i use my finger to intertwine with his own and when i do, ethan moves my hand to where he sits. his eyes were still on the road as he kisses my knuckles softly. it makes me want to feel his smooth lips against mine instead. "now i want to kiss you." i say what is on my mind and he glances over to me with a smirk.
"i always want to kiss you." he states and i unbuckle my seat belt now. my hand now on his thigh for support and my lips going to give him multiple pecks to his cheek. then at my luck there is red light within the city. this lets the boy turn his head to give me a proper kiss on my lips. it's quick and before he can look away i pull him into another one. it's more rough and shows my hunger for the boy's mouth near mine. we were interrupted when the vehicle behind us. i jump a little as ethan curses a little and moves the car forward.
