We're nearly at a stairwell when we start hearing strange noises. Crawlers advance from all sides, ready to kill. Hab and Joseph both pull out knives, Genesis stands there looking scared.
I count at least 20 Crawlers.
They all pounce at once.
I strike out with telepathy randomly, sending Crawlers flying out at incredible speeds. The ones that hit the walls are immediately killed, their necks broken.
The ones that don't get knocked out by the force of the attack.
Then the powerful scent of blood hits my nostrils, threatening to make me gag. There are bodies of Crawlers littered everywhere. Hab wipes some blood off his cheek.
"I think we did okay!" he says happily, but I can hear the quiet sounds of more Crawlers approaching.
"Yeah, good, now run!" I bark, sounding for all the world like a dog. I grab Hab and Genesis, then we rush up the stairs, hopefully away from the distant sound of the Crawlers.
