The man smiles cruelly. His contorted face stretches uglily, making him look like a toad. Truth and Lies begins to open. "Run! Run!" John yells, and we do. We run as fast as the wind.
We make it.
Elyssa doesn't.
She is sucked into Truth and Lies, screaming for me.
I don't hesitate.
I step into the zone ahead of me, and am instantly sucked away. I enter the darkness of Truth and Lies, reaching out for Elyssa.
I find her.
She's weak, she can't use Remnant to escape.
But I can.
With all my might I push away from the first black hole. Remnant begins to divide, then multiply. It expands, factorises, and it's agony.
We escape.
Into Nowhere.
That place in between world that people can get to when they aren't quite asleep, but they aren't awake either.
I've lost part of my soul.
My Remnant latches onto the only living thing there.
Elyssa.
We start draining each other, but we can live on this.
It's enough.
We pull out together, defying the laws of physics, surviving with our Remnant becoming each others.
We are forever linked.
