I wake to see the huge face of a Crawler right in front of me. I scream, John wakes up. The Crawler loops his front arms under mine and begins to pull me that way.
John is standing.
He launches for me, but the Crawler flicks the door shut.
There's a sickening crunch.
The Crawler flips me onto his back and runs off.
The logical thing to do would be to jump off his back before he can pick up any speed.
But I don't have much time for that.
We make it out of the hotel before I jump off.
However, this Crawler is smart. He predicts my movements, and has run by a ditch.
I close my eyes as the floor rushes up to meet me, and hope I won't injure myself too badly.
I hit the ground.
Ouch.
I'm not knocked out, but I'm severely winded.
A tall man suddenly appears leaning over me.
"Silly girl! What were you thinking, pulling a move like that? You could have been killed!" as he speaks, the man ties my hands up. He doesn't do it very well, I can wriggle out of them straight away. But I don't, I'm interested to see where this is going.
Straight to Nashesh's lair, as it turns out.
