Chapter 5

There we are standing at the entrance holding William as he was hanging on for dear life. We walk back inside the hospital and that's when Robin stops nearly dropping William. He stood still and stared forward. I gave him a weird look but then I took a look to where he was seeing and my eyes shot open.

No wonder he was acting that way, standing in front of us was Regina. That's when the two nurses that were helping us before come up to us. They take him away. As I walked with them I could see that Regina was just giving him a cold look. Only I know how much Robin loved that woman so I know seeing her is not that easy for him.

I walked back into the ER and placed William down on one of the beds. That's when that feisty and beautiful doctor enters and gasping like crazy. "What happened to him?" I'm leaning against the wall and chuckled. "There was an accident outside the hospital." She looks at him and scoffs. "This was no accident, this is an assault." I roll my eyes.

"Hey did this man hurt you?" She asks William and he shakes his head. "No he saved me." The doctor rolls her eyes. "Hey you're at the hospital nothing will happen to you if you say he did this to you." I scoff. "I didn't hit him." She scoffs. "William, did he hit you?" William groans. "I told you he saved me, I'm alive because of him." She scoffs again.

I walked up to her and sighed. "No matter how many times he says no, you're not going to believe him, huh?" She looks up at scoffs. "I'll give you pain killers and we will take X-rays of your whole body," she softly says to William. "Tink make sure you get him there and also can you call security, I want to check their security cameras, in the mean time I'm going to call the police."

I scoff. This doctor really has the audacity of accusing me of hitting this kid. Even though she is beautiful as can be she sure is stubborn and hard headed. She starts to walk out and I can't help but stare at her. That's when it hit me, she can't call the cops, I have to clear up this misunderstanding.

"Hey wait!" I scream out as I run out of the ER. I catch up to her and grabbed her arm. "Get your hands off me," she says as she tried to pull her arm away. I scoffed. "I'll do it, if you give me the chance to clear up this misunderstanding." She nods and I let go of her arm. "Everything that kid said is true, that kid..." "Is that patient your kid?"

That question caught me off guard and I didn't know how to respond back. I laughed nervously as I scratched my head. "See here Doctor, your patient stole my comrades phone, so we came to find his phone." She nods. "We walked out of the hospital and we saw him getting hit by a lot of people, so we saved him." She chuckles.

"So you saved the thief that stole your friend's phone?" I smile and nod. She chuckles. "You think I'm stupid, obviously it's more believable that you beat him up." I scoff. That's when she starts to call the police. She puts the phone to her ear and waits for them to answer. I put my head down in disbelief. God this woman is so irritating.

"Yes Misthaven police, I have an emergency here at..." That's when I push her phone from her hands sending it flying in the air, I lean close to her and catch it behind her back. I take the phone and hung up the call. I look back at the doctor and she seemed both impressed yet irritated.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" I sigh. "Look Doctor I'm going to tell you the truth, calling the police will cause a bit of a problem." She lifts her eyebrows. "Is that so?" I nod. "Yes we are soldiers, and we are on leave for now. If we were involved in an assault case, it would be bothersome." "Give me the phone." I chuckle as I put it in my pocket.

"You see we'd have to write so many reports, so I ask for your cooperation." She scoffs. "Why should I do that?" I smile. "How do I really know you're a solider and not just a thug?" I scoff. "Give me the phone." I chuckle. "Look I have a dog tag but you won't believe me and say that every male in Misthaven has one, and if you I show my ID you'll say it's forged so there's nothing I can say to prove that I'm a soldier."

I scoff and I'm starting to get irritated. "Where did you go to school?" She gives me a confused look. "Since you work here, I assume from Misthaven University right?" "Why are you asking that?" I scoff. "Do you know Regina Mills by any chance?, you're from the same year right?" She stood there frozen, by the look on her face I can tell that she knows who she is.

She scoffs. "How do you know her?" Then she gasps. "Are you a Sargent, or sheriff?" She asks and I chuckle. "Yes I'm a sheriff." She gives me a confused look. "Im just kidding, I'm not any of those people but how about we go confirm my identity." I turn around and start to walk back to where Regina was at.

"Where are you going?" I walk back up to the doctor and stood right in front of her. "Well you need to know that I'm not a thug right?" She nods. "Well..." I said as I stared at her eyes. I cant believe that being this close to her made her nervous. "Follow me love, and we will find out." I said and she simply nodded walking right behind me.
