Chapter 28
I look around and all I see is destruction and chaos. They knew we were coming so they attacked our base. I had walked outside the hanger when the bombs hit. Robin and I were thrown to the side of it but we had a car flip on top of us.
We got out and ran to the left side of the outer part of the hanger. We grabbed some machine guns and started to shoot the planes. I couldn't see who else was at the other station, but a bomb had hit there as well. After a couple of minutes everything ended.
We started to check for casualties. That's when I see Jay seriously hurt. He gasps when he sees Robin and I. He points towards the inside of the hanger. "Emma....Regina.." I gave him a weird look. "What?" He coughs and that's when he spits out blood.
"They went inside to look for you two." Robin and I gasp. That's when someone comes to grab Jay. Robin and I rush inside but we see that the floor had caved in. My heart dropped, Robin looked at me and I saw fear in his eyes.
"Emma!" I screamed out, as Robin scream Regina's name. Nothing, we didn't hear a single sound. They have to be down there. That's when the ground starts to shake again. More rubble moves and I see a small opening. Robin hands me a flash light and I shine the light through.
I can't see anything, there is no sign of them. That's when I see Elsa walking up to me. "How's the mess out there?" "I already ordered sections to look over the wounded but I can't find Emma or Regina." I sigh, as I point down. She gasps.
"They're down there?" I nod. She starts to freak out then screams out for them. She then starts to move some pieces of concrete causing the ground to move again. I grab her but she tries to break free. "Enough Elsa, you're making it worse." She scoffs.
"My best friend is under there, we need to get them out." I sigh. "We need to find a safe way to get them out Elsa, but this is not the way." She sighs and nods. "Ok Fine." I look at Robin and he nods.
"How do we get them out without comprising more of the structure?" I sigh. "I don't know but we need to get them out ASAP." Elsa nods. She then takes out her phone. "Maybe Emma has her phone, I can call her and she'll let me know how far down she is." I nod as well as Robin. "It's worth a shot."
Elsa dials But there's no answer. That's when we hear the ringtone outside the hanger. I sigh. "We will have to move some of the flooring, we have to get a visual of their location." I nod as Robin starts to move pieces of concrete.
Slowly and steady we start to move things around. We come across a big piece and between the three of us we moved it, giving us a better view of what's underneath. "Emma!" I scream out and that's when I hear a faint scream. "They are way below the basement." That's when Robin gasps.
"We need our harness and pulleys." I nod. We go and send someone down to our house so they can bring them. In the mean time we continued to move more pieces out of the way. After 30 minutes my men come and start to strap Robin and I into our harness, and locked the pulleys on to the rope.
They lower us down and I scream out Emma's name. I bet her voice more closer. Robin and I move some more pieces of concrete so we can see down below. Sure enough we see Emma and Regina sitting on the ground. "Regina needs help!" Emma screams out. The hole was too small for both of us to go in at once so I let Robin go in first.
After 5 minutes Robin comes up with Regina in his arms. I smile and nod as they disappear above me. I make my way down and I see Emma all bruised up. She runs to me and gives me a hug. "I thought you died." I shake my head as I hug her tightly.
"You can't get rid of me that easily doctor Swan." She smiles. That's when we feel everything shake. The ground starts to move making the ground below us fall down even further. In a matter of seconds I grab Emma and she holds on.
"I got you love." She nods as she continues to hug me. "Don't let go." She nods again. I make my way up, and in a matter of minutes we were at the top. As soon as we both took a breath of fresh air and stood on firm ground. Emma kisses me. I smile and kiss her back.
"I don't know what I would do without you." I caress her cheek. "I love you Emma." She smiles and nods. "I love you too." That's when Elsa comes screaming towards us and hugs Emma. I smile and decided to give them some alone time. I walk over to where Robin and Regina are at and I catch them kissing.
"So it seems that the love birds have finally owned up to their love." They both nod. "Being on the brink taught me that I shouldn't take nothing for granted, which includes my love for Robin." I smile. "I'm happy to see both my friends super happy and in love." That's when Regina groans.
"But before you guys continue on with this love fest, how about we take out that rod in your leg?" Regina nods. "I probably won't be able to walk right again, but I don't care as long as I'm with Robin nothing else matters."
That's when Emma comes and stands by me. "So you ready to take that ugly thing out?" She nods. Elsa and Emma take her away so she could get treated. Robin and I stood there as we see our ladies make their way.
Robin smiles and I pat him on the back. "Our women are awesome aren't they?" Robin nods. That's when we turn around and look at what this attack had actually done. It hadn't hit us completely what had happened, and now we can actually concentrate on how to recover from all this chaos.
