Chapter 7

The next day
To our dismay we were interrupted by incoming patients down at the ER so we didn't answer the question. But seeing as how excited he was to see me today makes me hopeful that he indeed has no one in his life. 

I check the time and it's almost time for Killian to come. I go set up a work station and that's when Elsa walks up to me. "I can see someone's excited for her date tonight." I chuckle. "It's not a date, I'm treating a patient." She chuckles. "Oh yeah a patient." I chuckle. "It's true."

"So what are you like going to bang him in one of the rooms?" I gasp. "Elsa!!!!" She laughs. "Come on, I saw him he is eye candy, I would be all over him." I half smile. "You can't deny that he's handsome." I nod. "He is, but I don't want to be all over him I am simply his doctor." She shakes her head.

"You know how hot that sounds.." I give her a straight face. "Elsa ever since you've been on celibacy everything seems hot to you." She chuckles. "It's making me crave it more but that doesn't mean I can't help my friend get a man." I chuckle.

I check the time and it's 3 minutes till 2 o'clock. That's when my pager goes off as well as Elsa's. We run to the ER and there were two women involved in a hit and run. Elsa took the first patient and I took the second.

As I was checking her, her wounds opens up and blood shoots everywhere. I touch her pulse and there isn't none. I sit on top of her and start to do chest compressions. I need to save this patient, and I'm sure Killian will understand.

"Tink tell them to prep OR 3." She nods as she runs. The other nurses help push the gurney to the OR.

Killian's POV
I'm looking at myself in the mirror as my squad is helping me pick out which uniform to wear. That's when Robin walks in. "What are you doing?" I chuckle. "I need to pick the best uniform to wear." All the men laugh.

"Lieutenant Robin, Captain Killian is getting treated at the hospital you all went to yesterday." Carlos says and Robin gives me a smirk. "So you're going to see that doctor huh?" Everyone nods. Carlos then sighs. "Yes Doctor Regina Mills is the hottest there." I sigh and Jay our other member of the squad hits Carlos in the back of the head.

"Keep those comments to yourself." Jay says with a disappointed look. I laugh. "Can I go with you to the hospital?" I give him a weird look. "For what?" He sighs. "I'm going to pay for Williams expenses." I nod. "Honorable thing to do." Robin smiles.

I quickly change and we made our way to the hospital. Robin goes his way and I go my way. I stood at the entrance and I see doctors and nurses pushing a patient across the hall. That's when I see Emma was on top of the patient doing chest compressions and she's covered in blood.

"Can't you guys go faster, she's losing a lot of blood!" She screams. I smile seeing her so devoted to her work. I run up to to them and helped them push the patient to where they needed to take her. We get to the OR and I stopped because I wasn't allowed to go further. I stood at the entrance as she entered the hallway.

I admired her even more. I look at the time and it's 2:05. Time passes by and it's 8pm. I think it's best to reschedule. I decided to just go work out. I made my way back and decided to work on my arms. As I'm working out my phone goes off.

I look at the number and I don't recognize it but I answer anyways.

"Hello?"

"Hi Killian, it's me Emma." I smiled like crazy hearing her voice.

"The surgery finished?"

"Yes, I heard that you came and then left?"

I chuckle.

"This is the first time I'm blown off by a doctor."

I could hear her chuckling.

"It was an emergency."

"Did she survive?"

"What?"

"The person you operated on, did she survive?"

"Yes we saved her."

"Look at you, so is this your phone number?"

"Yes."

"So you got my number huh doctor Emma?"

"Yes so save my number."

"I want to see you tomorrow."

"Are you normally this straightforward?"

I chuckle because teasing her is so much fun.

"What I meant is that I want to get treated tomorrow."

I could hear a sigh. God this woman was driving me crazy.

"Of course that's what I meant too."

I chuckle.

"No you meant something else."

There was a silence then I could hear her laugh.

"So did you take your medication?"

"Will I get worse if I don't?"

She laughs.

"What time do you want me to see you tomorrow?"

"Instead of that, how about we see each other right now?"

I hear silence, my heart was starting to break a bit. Did she not want it?

"Do you not want to see me?"

She laughs.

"No I do, so please come."

"Then I will see you in a bit."

"Bye Killian."

I didn't think she would want to see me but I guess she does. I don't know why but I can certainly feel that Emma is my chance at happiness.
