"Oh wow, so you are alive." Mom spoke sitting at one end of the table. She had a huge glass of wine in her hands and something told me it wasn't her first one.
"What are you doing here? And also I didn't have wine in the fridge." I replied putting my keys in the bowl. My place was cleaner than before. Obviously happens every time mom visits.
"If you must know I have now started carrying a bottle or two in my handbag. That way I'm always prepared." She replied. "But where have you been? Ignoring my calls, emails, messages anything. If this is a glimpse of teen Diana I don't like her one bit."
"I've been busy with work with school everything. Do you have any idea how hard it is to balance all of it?" I asked. I was honestly sick of her questioning me constantly but she was just being a concerned mother. May be I just didn't want her to figure out about me and Bruce. That just would not be fun right now.
"Honey I know you are stressed but you have to remember there is a bigger purpose to all this. This is how you are preparing yourself for a bigger picture." She replied.
"Easy for you to say with that wine in your hand." I replied checking mails if there was anything important. There were just few catalogs and an invitation to a prom event that was a month away. I was not even the slightest bit excited. If I'm being honest the super hero part of me had literally kicked out every single female thing I ever had. I no longer find things cute or adorable. I just destroy the first thing I lay my hands on. Bruce thinks it's hilarious. It's odd to think how the two of us who are so different from one another became attracted to each other in the first place.
"Well you need to keep me updated once in a while. I can't run to Justice League headquarters each time I have to see how my daughter is doing." She replied getting up.
"I'm fine, if there was anything up I'd tell you, you know that." I assured. Obviously still failing to mention about Bruce and me. Well I wonder if that's ever going to come up.
