Rose P.O.V

I watched as everyone started to leave, returning to their chores and work. I didn't really have any jobs yet, so I decided I would scope the place out, just in case. Suddenly, the Korean man from earlier sauntered up to me, calling my name. "Rose! hey wait up!" He yelled after me. "Hi," He breathed, out of breath from running over to me. "Hey. Thanks for lending me that sleeping bag by the way." I said, letting him catch his breath before answering. "No problem, I'm Glenn by the way, it's nice to have a new face around here" he relpied sticking out a hand, hesitantly shaking it. "Wanna walk with me?" Glenn asked gesturing to the open pasture. I nodded slightly and started to walk towards the fence with Glenn 'I don't know what it is about Glenn, but he seems like a nice guy, but I won't get close to him, You never know what could happen in a world gone to shit..' I said in my head. "Your group seems nice.." I broke the silence between us as we continued to walk, the stars now out. Glenn just nodded his head, "I'll introduce you to the people around here tomorrow." He replied simply. "Well, I should go get some sleep, big day tomorrow going to find Sophia." Glenn suggested. 'Sophia..?' I asked quietly in my head. He must of saw the confusion on my face, as he began to explain. "Sophia is Carol's daughter, we lost her on the highway when a big herd blew through.. two walkers chased her into the forest, and we haven't seen her since.." Glenn trailed off, looking to the ground. I couldn't reply. I couldn't imagine how Carol was feeling, but I'm guessing it was something like what my mother had felt after hearing I had left. My step father probably told her some bull shit story about how I was selfish and whipped him with a belt, taking off running into the forest. "I guess I'll go set up my sleeping bag then," I said blankly. We had made our way over to the farm house, Glenn handing me a sleeping bag and saying goodnight before I left. I set up a small fire and set up my things, making sure I wasn't to far from the forest edge, in case I needed to get out quickly. As soon as I got into my sleeping bag, I fell asleep. The next thing I remembered was waking up screaming and sweating like crazy. Yet another nightmare.. I guess Daryl heard me screaming, because he was just coming out of his tent, rubbing his eyes. He gave me a death glare even from 30 feet away. I felt terrible, so I grabbed my bow and the arrow Rick had given me earlier and headed for the woods. Yes, it was really dangerous in the middle of the night, but I needed to clear my head. I walked for about an hour, shooting a few squirrels and carrying them back to camp. I laid the squirrels down beside the dying embers of my fire and tried to get some more sleep in before daylight.

-The next morning-

I woke up to someone shaking my shoulder slightly. I was a bit startled, but calmed down to see it was only Rick. "Mornin' BabyBlue" I said groggily. He laughed a bit at my nickname I had given him. "BabyBlue?" he questioned. "Yeah, well, your eyes are so bright I figured a nickname like BabyBlue would suit ya'" I responded laughing a bit at myself. He shook his head still grinning. "So ya goin' to tell me why you woke me up?" I asked, Curiosity obvious in my face. "Breakfast is ready."" I nodded, unsure if he wanted me to join the group. "no worries, I'm sure you'll be just like family to us" and with that, He walked off. I went into my bag, and grabbed a new set of clothes and headed to the house. I walked up the steps, and gently knocked on the door. It was only right, since I was new. A young girl in her early twenties with short brown hair answered the door "Mornin', I was wonderin' if I could borrow a bathroom, to get changed in." I said rather shyly. She smiled warmly and gestured me into the house "Of course you can, you must be Rose, right?" I nodded. "Well I'm Maggie Greene, and here is my sister,Beth." She pointed to blonde girl who looked about 16, who came down the stairs to see us. She did remind me of myself when I was that young, but of course she probably wasn't nearly as damaged. She gave a warm smile and made her way to the kitchen. "This way," Maggie said, heading up the stairs. I followed her, as she lead me to a small white country style bathroom with a small mirror hanging above the sink. I thanked her quietly before changing, brushing my teeth, and doing my hair quickly. I ran outside to join the group for breakfast, seeing Glenn, I walked over to him. An old man with a white beard and dark eyebrows handed me a plate with breakfast. I nodded gratefully to him. "The names Dale, nice to meet you Rose" "nice to meet you to Dale" I answered, before taking a seat next to him and Glenn. I looked around the camp looking at the different people. There was a woman with long brown wavy hair, stoking a small boys head talking to him about what looked to be home work. There was also a woman with short gray hair, a woman about my age with blonde hair, and a black man. "The woman and the boy over there is Rick's wife and son, Lori and Carl. The woman with the short grey hair is Carol, the one who lost her daughter, the blonde over there is Andrea and T-Dog is the one with the bandage around his arm." Glenn whispered quietly, careful not to draw any unnecessary attention. We ate breakfast in moderate silence, the occasional conversation here and there. "Hey Glenn, I think I'm going to go huntin', look for some deer for supper tonight, I'll catch up later." I said standing up and throwing my plate into the trash bag. "Wait up Rose! I've got something for you!" Glenn shouted, running into the RV. He soon returned with a quiver full of arrows. They were beautiful, with engraving all around the base of the quiver. "I found them in an old truck on the highway, got them for Daryl. He said they were to 'girly' for him, but you could put them to a good use." I was surprised, but thanked him and headed towards the forest. I followed the trail I left behind, leading me to the quarry I was at yesterday. I noticed there were some hoof prints, so I followed them carefully, curiosity getting the better of me. There was a stir-up a few meters from where I had started following the trail. 'The horse must have bucked off the person here..' I thought, studying the prints and tracks carefully, trying to pin-point where the person was. I noticed some grass freshly pushed down, 'someone must have rolled down the cliff' I thought. I looked over the cliff to see the quarry I found yesterday, but what was at the bottom made my heart stop. It was Daryl.
