I laid on my back, watching the night sky. My head was swimming with thoughts about the group, and my nerves were to on-edge to sleep out in the open. Daryl's hand drew small, sleepy circles on my arm calming me down slightly. I sighed and snuggled into his arm, letting him play with my curls. "Can't sleep?" He whispered in a raspy voice. I nodded, letting out a small sigh. I felt him press his lips to my forehead before pulling me into him more. Daryl looked like he was in deep thought, studying the moon. "Whatcha thinkin' about?" I asked, tilting my head to look at him. "Nuthin'" He said. I looked up to the sky and felt him start to stare at me. He mumbled something before pulling me back into him and shutting his eyes. "Get some sleep darlin', gonna be a long day tomorrow.." With that, I fell into another nightmare filled sleep.

I gave a slight nod to Daryl before Rick burst down the door to the front of an abandoned house. I walked in, clearing rooms quickly just behind Daryl. The last few months were harsh, the cold settled deep in our bones as we tried to trap heat in. Starvation showed on everyone's sunken-in faces. Even Lori was pale and thin, but defiantly ready to pop any day now. I felt like a different person from the farm. I was closing myself off, but nothing between Daryl and I changed. There was still a spark every time he touched me. I pushed the chills away quickly when I heard footsteps behind a door. Daryl Motioned more me to stay close before standing in front of the door. Suddenly the door was yanked open, only for us to be met by Ricks face. I exhaled slowly and walked into a boys bedroom, looking for clothes that would fit Carl. I checked the room quickly for anything but came up short. My stomach grumbled furiously at the sound of a food wrapper under my boot. I sighed and ran a hand through my hair, noticing how greasy and long it was. I pulled a hair-tie from my pocket and threw it up in a pony before joining the group in the living room. I sat down on a blanket beside Daryl and Glenn, tossing some feathers from the owl Daryl shot away. He gave me a side-ways smirk before tossing a handful of feathers in my hair. I smirked and pulled them out of my hair and shirt. I noticed Carl opening a can of food, making my stomach rumble loudly, but once I saw the label I lost my appetite. It was dog food. The eerie silence in the group made me want to scream, just to have a change. Rick walked over and snatched the can from Carl, tossing it into the fireplace. I flinched from the loud noise but settled my nerves. I heard T-Dog whistle quietly, motioning to walkers quickly approaching. I almost jumped up from the ground, notching an arrow and ushering the others out of the house. I jumped in my car and followed Maggie and Glenn to the road. I sighed again, letting my nerves settle. After a few hours of driving in silence, I slowed my car down and cut the engine, jumping out and joining the others. "We got no place left to go" "If this herd meets up with us, we'll be cut off. We'll never make it south." I jogged up to Maggie, glancing at the map. We really had no places to go. "What'd you say, bout a hundred fifty ahead?" Daryl asked. "That was last week, could be twice that by now." I placed my hands in my back pocket and leaned against the car. "This river could have delayed them. If we move fast we might have a shot to tear right through this-" "Yeah but if this group joins with that one they could spill out this way." T-Dog pointed to the map before taking a long, deep breath. "So we're blocked then," I sighed. "The only thing to do is double back between 7, swing Port Greevo." Rick seemed to be getting tired of this already. He sure kept his promises. "We picked through that already, it's like we spent the whole winter going in circles." "Yeah I know. At Nunu we'll push west, haven't been through there yet. We can't keep going house to house, need to find some place to hold up for a few weeks." I nodded to Rick before jogging off to my car. I saw Daryl and Rick walk into the forest together. I quickly jogged down to the stream, washing myself up. I noticed a large building, which looked like a prison. The fences were high enough to keep the corpses in or out. I dried myself off and ran back to my car, throwing my now clean hair into a pony. I couldn't get that prison off my mind. Maybe, just maybe, that would be our new home. Our new hope.
