I was nervous about going down for dinner but I followed the girls anyways. Maggie went down first, then Beth, then me. Glenn looked like he had died and gone to heaven when he saw Maggie. I thought I even saw drool. Beth giggled and blushed from all the attention we grabbed. I hated the attention and felt very uncomfortable, which didn't go un noticed. Maggie put a hand on my shoulder and guided me down the stairs. "Well don't you girls look beautiful. Now I feel underdressed." Lori said, laughing and pointing to her worn out clothing. "I can second that." Andrea stated walking in from the kitchen. I couldn't help but feel like someone was watching me, but I wasn't uncomfortable. I looked around to see Daryl leaning against the fireplace staring at me. I blushed but it soon faded when I felt another pair of eyes giving me chills and a knot twisted in my stomach. I caught Shane looking me up and down licking his lips with pure lust in his eyes. I nearly gagged at the thought of him. "Hey, you look great Rose, don't mind him. We all know he's a pig." T-dog whispered in my ear. He must of noticed how uncomfortable I was. "Thanks T, and no worries, We already know I can handle myself." I nodded over to Shane who still had butterfly stitches around his nose and a split lip. He just laughed and walked over to Carol. I looked back over to where Daryl was only to find him gone. I frowned in my head at the thought that he left and couldn't help but feel disappointed. I shoved the thought away. "If your looking for him, he's on the porch outside." Maggie whispered and I blushed. I don't know how but she knew exactly what I was thinking. I decided not to go look for Daryl, I shouldn't have kissed him. I can't get attached. What if something goes wrong? Maggie was right, I don't want to lose another person close to me. I don't let anyone close to me normally. I normally would have left this group a long time ago, but for some reason I couldn't bring myself to do it. "Dinner's ready." Patricia called and we all went to sit around the table. I sat down only to be joined be the one and only Shane. Everyone sat down and I got sympathetic looks from Mags and T-Dog. There was an empty seat beside me that was supposed to be for Daryl who still hadn't come inside. "Daddy, I'll say grace." Beth said in her usual quiet voice. We all joined hands and I couldn't help but mentally gag from Shane's touch. Before Beth could start, Daryl came in and took a seat beside me. I heard Shane scoff from beside me and hold tighter onto my hand. I joined hands with Daryl and I couldn't help but blush from the slightest contact. Beth said grace and we all began to eat and chatter around the table. I sat and ate not talking to anyone, as did Daryl. I just wanted to get out of this dress and go hunting. I was desperate for some fresh air but decided to be polite and stay. I suddenly felt a hand on my knee creeping up to my thigh. I felt my stomach go in knots and I nearly gagged knowing it was Shane. I reached under the table and smacked his hand only for him to pinch my leg and go higher onto my thigh. I almost let out a whimper of pain at the pinch but kept it in. I stood up abruptly earning the attention of most people. "Just gong to get some fresh air.." I said quietly and fast walked out of the house. The cool wind slammed my body making me shiver, but I was thankful for the quick escape from Shane. I sighed deeply and ran a hand through my hair. I heard the door creek open and looked over to find Shane coming to check on me. I scoffed and turned away crossing my arms over my chest. "What the fuck do you want?" I spat, clearly not wanting anything to do with him. I felt chills go up my spine when I felt Shane's hot breath on my neck and felt extremely uncomfortable. "Couldn't let a piece like you run away now could I?" He whispered, grabbing me by the waist and slamming me into the wall, his body pressed up against mine. I felt his disgusting lips on mine, tongue trying to pry my mouth open but I wasn't letting it happen. He slammed my body against the wall again and I felt dizzy from my head smacking against the wall. I felt his calloused hands run up my legs and up my dress. I tried my hardest to shove him off but with every struggle came another slam against the wall. I felt like I was going to pass out until Shane was puled off of me. I franticly looked around to see Daryl punch Shane square in the jaw. I reached to the back of my head and felt no blood, which was a good thing. I heard Daryl mutter something into Shane's beat up face but I couldn't make it out. I felt like my head was swimming. I tried to shake it off but it was no use. "Woah, woah, woah, hey there, you alright?" I heard Glenn say as he held my shoulders. Wait, Glenn? How'd he get here? I saw Daryl storm back to his camp without another word. "Yeah, fine." was all I could mutter. "Let's go back inside then," Glenn said taking my hand. I went inside and finished dinner without another word and got changed into my pj's, giving Maggie back her dress. I thanked everyone and went to my sleeping spot. Tonight was going to be cold and sleepless, I knew that for sure. I crawled into my sleeping back, shivers wracking my body from the cold wind. I heard footsteps close by and instantly grabbed my knife and sat up. I relaxed seeing it was only Daryl. I shivered again from the cold wind nipping at my exposed skin. "Hey," I muttered. "Hey, y'all right?" He asked, I only nodded. I shivered violently again and hugged myself tighter into the blanket. "If yer' cold, come sleep in ma' tent, probably warmer than this poor excuse fer' a sleeping bag." He said, slightly kicking my sleeping bag. My mind said no, don't get attached, but I was honestly so cold I'd settle for anything. "Why not," I said quietly. I stood up and grabbed my sleeping bag to use for an extra blanket. I walked with Daryl back to his tent, and set up my thing on the floor beside the cot. "I don't think so, yer' sleeping on the cot." Daryl said. I guess this was the best he could do at being polite. "It's your tent, your sleeping on the cot." I said emphasizing the your. "Fine, I'll sleep on the floor and you'll either be stubborn and sleep on the floor, or sleep on the cot. Yer' choice." He said flopping down onto the blankets I made up into a make-shift bed. "Hey those are my blankets." I argued. Daryl just grunted in response. 2 can play that game. I smirked and laid down right beside him in the blankets. "Guess I'm stubborn" I replied sarcastically. I heard him scoff a laugh and shake his head. I already felt warmer feeling the heat roll off of Daryl's body. I soon heard soft snores from beside me and looked to see Daryl had fallen asleep. I laid my head down, slowly falling asleep. I felt Daryl's warm arm pull me into his chest and instantly felt warm. I smiled into his chest, right before I fell asleep, I heard him whisper in his sleep "You looked beautiful tonight" and with that, I fell into a dreamless sleep.
