I couldn't get her outta my head, it was like she was imprinted in my mind and no matter what I did I couldn't get rid of her. I shook my head slightly watching her disappear into the dense forest, heading back to the camp. I couldn't wipe this stupid smirk off my face. I wonder if she actually cares about me, or if she's just messing with my head. I didn't know what this was, but what ever it is it's messing with my feeling. I didn't want to tell her. I wasn't going to spill my heart out to some woman. What did she even mean by 'you tell me'? I sighed and ran a mucky hand through my hair. A million questions raced through my head but I pushed them away for another time. I grabbed my crossbow, following her trail back to the camp.

Rose P.O.V

I walked up to the house after putting my things back at my little camp. I wanted to ask Maggie a few questions. I lightly knocked on the door, followed by Patricia opening the door almost instantly. "Hi ma'am, Is Maggie around?" "Yes, she's upstairs in her room, come on in dear." She opened the door wider and I quickly walked upstairs to Maggie's room. I knocked on the door before opening it up slightly. I saw her sitting on her bed, he eyes slightly puffy. "Mags, what's wrong?" I sat down on the bed beside her. "I don't know what to do Rose, I-I told Glenn I loved him. He got mad at me for it, and I'm scared he doesn't love me. What do I do?" She asked looking at me with sad eyes. I honestly didn't know what to do, I was never good anything involving feelings. I've mostly covered them up, until now. "Mags, darlin', he love's ya. There's no doubt about it. He just doesn't know what to do with all of it, its dangerous to love in a world like this. You can't blame yourself fer' doin' somethin' wrong, you didn't do anything wrong, just give it time." I didn't know what else to say. In some way it was like I was trying to convince myself with what I'm saying, with Daryl and I. I sighed and ran a hand through my hair. It was getting longer everyday. "There's something on your mind." Maggie said. By the look in her eyes, she wanted me to spill. I got nervous and started to fiddle with my nails. I've never poured my feelings out to someone, I've never had a best friend. This was all new to me, but I gave it a shot. "I kissed Daryl.." I muttered. Maggie clapped her hands and asked me to tell more. I explained everything to her. Our first kiss down by the water, our fight, and our kiss in the forest. I thought I'd leave out the walkers in the situation, I didn't need to worry her. I blushed quite a bit. I didn't tell her any of the feelings that I had, I wasn't even sure of them myself. "So, you and Daryl then?" She grinned. "I don't know, geez Mags we sound like a bunch of teenagers" I chuckled. I got her to smile, which was all I needed. I said a quick goodbye to Maggie before heading outside. I looked around for something to occupy my mind, finding Carl all alone by a tree. I wandered over to were he was and sat down beside him. "Hey bud, whatcha up to?" I asked ruffling his hair. "Hey Rose.. I'm bored.. there's nothing to do." I sighed and patted his arm. An idea popped into my head. "Let's play tag." I tugged on his arm a bit. "You'll play with me?" He asked with a big smile on his face. I swear the dullness in his eyes disappeared. I always had a soft spot for little kids. I nodded and starting counting to ten. He got the hint and ran off towards the field. I sprinted toward him, but slowed down to give him a fair chance. "Your it!" I yelled tapping his arm. I sprinted away from him. "Come on, your so much faster than I am!" He yelled, sinking to the grass in defeat. I collapsed beside him and started laughing with him like I was a kid. "Go on, get some water and find your momma, she must be worried. We'll play again soon." I panted. "Thank you Rose," He grinned, hugging my waist. I tensed a bit but hugged him back. I walked over to my camp and started a fire. It was starting to get late and my stomach was grumbling like crazy. I knew I would soon get hunger pains so I opened a can of peaches. I let the fruit roll around on my tongue, savoring the flavor. I glanced around to see Daryl by himself at his camp and I felt a heat rise to my cheeks. I took this opportunity to let all the feelings and questions flow around my brain. I was being stupid for liking him, for caring, I know I would only end up getting myself hurt. The last thing I needed was to lose another person, but there was something so enticing about him that made me want him. I knew from the look in his eyes that the feeling was mutual. But you never know for sure. I wanted to keep to myself, not get close to anyone, stay closed in and never let anyone see past the sky high walls I built, but it was something about the group that made me want to stay. Like I could trust them, not just Daryl. Like I was already family. The word seemed so foreign to me, having a family, love, hope, having a reason to live, all so dangerous in this world, but in some ways so worth it. I didn't even notice that I started to walk over to Daryl's tent. I was nervous and an unsettling feeling was in my stomach but I kept calm on the outside. "Hey," I said walking towards him. I shoved my hands in my pockets, watching the flame from Daryl's fire. "Hey" He motioned for me to sit down beside him on the log. I sat down and stared into the slow burning fire. "Y'alright?" I nodded. "Jus' thinkin'" I replied, shivering a bit from the cold air. "Can't believe yer' sleepin' outside in this." He scoffed looking towards me. "Ain't like I got a choice, I don't have a tent and I'm not sharing one with Shane." I met his gaze finally. The fire gave his face an orange glow that made the blue eyes look more vibrant than ever. I could feel the heat radiating off of him and I couldn't help but feel a little bit jealous. Another shiver wracked my body making my hands start to shake. He only grunted and motioned to his tent. I looked over to see it was unzipped, only one side of the tent being used. I glanced back to him and gave him a confused look. "Sleep in mine, ain't like I'm gonna use the space anyways." He grunted looking back into the fire. The look I his eyes held so much doubt, like he was expecting me to shut down his offer completely. "You don't mind?" I asked feeling self conscious. "Nah" He shook his head and motioned over to my things. I grabbed all of my things and dragged them back to Daryl's tent. I left it beside the log we sat on and I watched the stars. I started singing "Faithfully" by Journey in my head. Little did I realize I was singing out loud, but quietly. I froze and chanced a glanced at Daryl. He was staring at me with awe in his eyes. "Keep singin' haven't heard that song in a while," He muttered staring back into the fire. I stared in the fire with him and continued singing. I finished the song and all was quiet except or the crackling of the fire and the occasional cricket. I violently shivered from the cold and the silence. Daryl noticed my shivering and scooted closer to me. He held out his arm. "Come ere'" He sighed. I hesitantly moved closer and snuggled into his jacket. Cigarette smoke, pine and engine grease filed my nose. I took in a deep breath and tried to relax. Daryl reached into his jacket and pulled out a small box. He flipped to top open, pulled out a cigarette and lit one, taking a long drag and exhaling. When I thought he couldn't get anymore attractive.. He flipped the box open and offered me one. I too one gratefully and put it in between my lips. He lit mine with a lighter and I took a long drag. The sweet tobacco wafted into my lungs and I exhaled, letting the smoke roll off my tongue. I hadn't had one in months, I was only a stress smoker so it was easy to pick up and drop once in a while. I saw Daryl smirk from the corner of my eye and couldn't help but feel a little flirty. I soaked up the warmth from Daryl, so I was no longer shivering. The fire was down to embers now and I put out the butt of my cigarette, Daryl doing the same. I took this as a hint that we needed to get some rest so I started to get up. Daryl got up and opened the tent, letting me in first and then himself. I set my sleeping bag on the floor, followed by my bag and weapons. "Ain't no way, yer' sleepin' on the cot." Daryl said, picking up my bag. "Daryl, it's yer' tent, yer' sleeping on your cot." I smirked. "If ya' don't get yer' ass up here we're both sleepin' on the floor." He argued. I laughed. "Good luck with that," I muttered, unrolling my sleeping bag. "Have it yer' way." Daryl plopped down beside me, grabbing the sleeping bag from on top of the cot and laying on the floor beside me. I grabbed my bag and started to pull out my pajamas. I made a twirling motion with my hand, telling Daryl to turn around. I was terrified to change in the same tent as Daryl, what if he saw them. I swallowed my fear and threw on my sweatpants. I turned back around to see Daryl still looking to the other side of the tent. I slowly took off my shirt and went to put on my sweater. "Geez woman did ya' fall asl-" Daryl stopped dead in his sentence. I felt a pair of eyes on my back and I swallowed hard, scared to hide and turn around. There was no point in trying to hide it, he already saw them. He saw my scars.
