Rock Walls

I couldn't move. It was like time was frozen and somehow I was too. I began to panic 'Is he dead? What do I do? Should I go back, tell the others? Or should I go by myself?' The questions ran through my head making it spin and blur. I could go down the way I came the first time, but that would take to long. I could see the blood pooling around Daryl as he lay motionless in the shallow water. The only way I could get down there was if I climbed down the coarse rock wall, but that was seriously risky. I grabbed the nearest tree branch and starting my decent. I was getting the hang of it, watching the rocks careful not to step on any weak ones. Suddenly, a weak rock I missed fell from beneath my foot. I held in a scream as I tried to catch myself on loose vines or branches, but my efforts failed. The tree branches left hot burning scrapes on my exposed skin. I couldn't even keep count of the rocks I had hit on the way down. The fall felt like an eternity, but was really only about 30 seconds before I landed heavily on the ground, rolling into the water about 4 feet from Daryl. I tried to move, but soon realized one of the loose rocks pinned my leg, which was now pouring blood into the already blood filled pool. I struggled to get free, thrashing and trying to lift the rock but with every movement came with a fierce pain shooting through my whole body. My left leg wasn't broken, but the gash under the rock was defiantly deep. I heard mumbling from beside me and realized Daryl was now starting to stir from unconsciousness. He must have hit his head hard, because he didn't even notice me. It was like he was talking to some guy named 'Merle.' I was to focused on the throbbing headache and searing pain in my leg to pay any attention to his 'conversation.' I ripped the bottom of my grey top off, so I didn't have to tie it in the front anymore, and carefully tied it around my leg just above the knee. I noticed that Daryl was now doing the same with the arrow protruding from his side with the sleeves of his red plaid shirt. Daryl instantly grabbed his crossbow that had fallen on the shore and started to climb back up the wall. 'Come on Rose, If he can do it you can do it. You don't need him to help you, your not a dumb little girl' I chanted in my head. With all the effort I had in me, I shoved the rock so that I could yank my leg out. More blood pooled but now I could properly treat it the best I could. I re-tied the strips of cloth and started over to my bow and scattered arrows. I was about t climb the wall when I heard rustling from above my head. Daryl suddenly came barreling toward me. The wind was knocked from my lungs and I saw black blotches swirl around and blur my vision. I tried so hard not to let darkness take over me, but I couldn't resist the temptation.

-Dream-
I woke to a bright white light shinning into my eyes. Fear instantly crept into my mind as I stood up as fast as I could. I noticed quickly that I wasn't injured, nor was I 27. I was 16. I remembered this day like a scar in my mind. The bright light was soon faded and surrounded with dense forest. I slowly started to walked but had the urge to run like something was chasing me. I looked back and saw dark shadows replacing the forest quickly. I ran as fast as I could, but the shadows cold fingers tangled through my hair, and licked the back of my heels with the cool mist. I was loosing, but suddenly the bushes rustled and before I could think, I was swept away in big strong arms away from the demons. I saw tattered angel wings surrounded with rough leather. I barley saw it, before the bright light appeared and blocked my vision again.

I fluttered my eyes open, realizing this was no longer some strange dream. I felt the pain. I quickly got up, tightened the cloth, and slung my bow over my shoulder once again. I noticed Daryl was eating something but I couldn't make it out. It looked like.. raw squirrel? disgusting. Again, he didn't even notice me. I started to climb up the wall again. It was a serious struggle to just get up. My leg was screaming and my muscles contracted. I finally reached the top, and used all my arm power to pull myself up. The black splotches appeared in my vision but I quickly blinked them away. I sat against the stump of a tree, and listened to the birds, trying to calm down. Daryl soon pulled himself up and sprawled on the ground. "I ain't a pussy, you tha one who left all the time" Daryl mumbled. I could barley make out what he was saying. I finally passed out again, with peaceful sounds filling my ears.

Daryl P.O.V
Merle kept going on about how I was a pussy, that this group didn't need me, that I was some dumb redneck trash. It went on and on and on. Yes it hurt, he was probably right anyways. They didn' need me. "And that dumb bitch you picked up over ere' probably gon' be the closest thing to a friend ya even got ere'. ya didn't even notice she's right there, and has been to save yer' sorry ass. Only piece of ass you'd get, baby brother." Merle said. pointing to Rose, who looked unconscious by a tree. He was right again, she was here. Dumb bitch got er' self hurt too. Jus' ta help me. "Come on, get yer ass up now, ya pussy." Merle laughed before walking away "Come back ere'! Don't leave!" I yelled, but he disappeared into the woods. I quickly woke up to a walker biting on my boot, with two more on there way over to Rose, Hell if I was letting er' die out here. I smashed the walkers head with a rock. One seemed to notice me, and made its way over to me. The only arrow I had left was in my side, so the only choice I had was to rip er' out. It sent licks of hot pain through me but I soon loaded it and shot the walker in the head. I sighed but heard a small gasp and I realized Rose was unconscious and there was a walker on er'. She scrambled to get the walker off her but her bow was behind er'. She stabbed the walker in the head but the guts gushed all over er' from its torn open stomach. I watched er' carefully as she shoved it off of herself and ran a hand through er' dirty long blonde hair. I cut the ears off the two walkers I killed, offering the one pair from the walker she killed to er'. She looked at me weird. Maybe I did hit my head really hard. But I was proud that we did this. She hesitantly took it and slung it around er' neck. I offered er' a hand to get up, but noticed that she could barley walk. I wrapped an arm around er' waist and helped er' back to camp. There was a lone walker heading towards us, so she held up er' knife and walked over to it. There was a lot of screamin' and I saw all of the guys run up to us. It was nice to see Rick again I guess, But they all had terrified expressions on their faces.

Rose's P.O.V
I killed the walker finally with a lot of trouble, but I managed. I limped behind Daryl with everyone pointing guns at our faces "You gon' pull the trigger or what?" Daryl asked. Rick slightly smiled but it quickly vanished when a gunshot went off, and Daryl and I fell limp to the ground.
