The next thing I knew I pulled my knife out, grabbing it by the blade and throwing it at Tony. Dave now laid in a crumpled heap on the floor, followed by Tony who took my knife to the head and a shot to the chest from Rick. Did I just kill a man? I felt my gut wrench like I was about to vomit but held it down. Rick shot him before my knife landed, but he could have been still alive. I felt like my feet were glued to the floor. Rick walked over to Tony's dead body and yanked my knife out. He tossed it to me and I caught it, wiping the blood on my jeans and sliding it back into the sheath. The bar was dead silent, and I still had a bad feeling in my stomach, like something wasn't over. Dave and Tony mentioned a group, what if they come looking for us? They could be dangerous. I wasn't worried about me, I could handle my own. I'd be out of there soon enough anyways, but I was worried for the group. What about Carl? Lori and the baby? Glenn? Maggie? I couldn't shake the thought of them getting hurt, and for some reason Daryl was another person I was worried about. I was ripped from my thoughts by the sound of a car. I ducked behind the counter and slowly crawled over to Glenn and Hershel. I heard a lots of voices, all men. "Where's Dave and Tony?" I heard a man say. Some dumbass yelled their names. I locked eyes with Rick, holding a finger to my mouth and motioning to the door where a shadow of a man was. I could see the fear etched on everyone's faces. I stiffened up when the shadow moved but quickly noticed the shadow was leaving. A small flash of relief washed over me but I knew it was to good to be true. We were all dead silent, hoping the people would just leave, but that chance was slim to none. I clenched my fist around my gun a few times to try and calm myself down. Glenn gave me a reassuring look and glanced over to Hershel who looked like he was about to pass out. Bad time to get drunk. Rick gave Hershel a nod before standing up quickly and checking the windows. He crouched back down and I slowly made my way over to them. Glass crunched under my boot and I froze. Rick gave me a small nod and I crawled over to them. "Why won't they leave" Glenn whispered. "Would you?" Hershel stated. I nodded. "They aren't gonna give up that easily." "We can't sit here any longer, lets head out the back and make a run to the car." Rick added, earning slight nods from all of us. We went to leave but stopped abruptly at the sounds of gun shots. I pulled my gun up and aimed at the door, others doing the same. I felt my heart leap to my throat. "Roamers, nailed em', disappeared but there cars still there" I heard a guy say. Well shit, there goes Ricks idea. I tried to think of a way out of this mess, but I kept thinking about worst possible situations. "What about those buildings, did you guys get this one?" Another man asked. My blood ran cold. They were talking about the bar. Any minute now there would be guys shooting us down. Suddenly a guy grabbed the handle and pushed the door. I closed my eyes, but nothing came. Glenn stopped the door. "Some one closed the door, there's someone in there" "Hey if there's someone in there we don't want no trouble, just looking for our friends! We don't want any trouble." A man yelled. "We're just looking for our friends if something happened, tell us. This place is crawling with corpses if you could help us not get killed I'd appreciate it!" He repeated. Damn, they are stupid. If the place was full of walkers then don't yell! I rolled my eyes. "Dude I'm tellin' you nobody's in there." I looked over and saw Rick fighting with himself, like he wanted to do something but doesn't at the same time. We were all on edge at this point. "They're in there they might know where Dave and Tony are," A man said. I could tell they were frustrated. By the sounds of their numbers why wouldn't they just leave? "They drew on us!" Rick yelled. I sighed and knew it was inevitable that we were going to have a shoot out. Hershel had the same expression as I did. "Dave and Tony in there? They alive?" The guy on the other side of the door asked. "No" Rick yelled sternly. The two guys outside had a small argument about leaving. I was hoping they would, but like I said, these guys weren't going down without a fight. "Your friends drew on us! They gave us no choice. I'm sure we've all lost enough people. Done thing we- we wish we didn't have to but it's like that now, you know that! So let's just chalk this up to what it was, wrong place, wrong-" A gunshot interrupted Rick, almost nailing Glenn in the head. I grabbed his arm and pulled him over behind a table, dodging more bullets. "Get out of here!" Rick yelled to us. I stood up and ran behind the bar. Hershel slid a shot gun to Glenn. I gave him a small nod hoping it would calm him down a bit. The shooting had stopped now, leaving the bar silent once again. Maybe they thought we were dead and would leave. Little hope for that, but it was something to hang onto. "Hey! We all know this is not going to end well!" Rick yelled, reloading his Python. Well there goes that hope. "There's nothing in it for any of us, You guys just back off and no one else gets hurt!" It was silent. Until we heard a car pull up out back. Glenn and I shared a worried look. Rick nodded to us, and we both took off running to the back door, guns close. He slowly opened the door, stepping down the stairs. I was close behind him. I looked around and noticed it was a storage room, which felt quite eerie. The stairs creaked and Glenn stopped, almost causing me to run into his back. I cursed in my head and sighed silently going down the rest of the stair. We started checking the room together when suddenly wind chimes were moved. I looked over to see a shadow trying to open the door. I raised my gun and took in a shaky breath, trying to calm myself down a bit. I was scared, but I hardened my face so no one would see. I jumped slightly when Glenn shot the shadow. "I'm alright!" Glenn yelled to a worry filled voice coming from the front. We both moved closer to the door. Hershel walked up to us, startling Glenn. "Rick wants you to try for the car," Hershel said. "Try?" Glenn said. "You'll try, and succeed" He reassured "Rose, I want you to cover Glenn, but stay close to the alley so I can call if I need ya, got that?" He said pointing to me. "Yes sir" I said sternly, clenching my gun. "We'll cover you" Hershel reassured again. "Sounds like a great plan" Glenn said sarcastically. I scoffed a bit, knowing he was right. He walked over to the door, checking around a bit before grabbing the handle. I set a hand on his shoulder, letting him know I was there, before he opened the door. He stepped outside, followed by me, and then Hershel. Glenn and I walked towards the dumpster, looking around the corner. Suddenly a gunshot rang out from behind us. I felt a burning pain in my calf but forgot about it when I heard another shot. Hershel shot the man. I grabbed my calf and noticed it was bleeding. It wasn't bad. I looked around, trying to find Glenn. I saw his shoe from the other side of the dumpster. Not moving. My heart dropped and I crawled over to him as fast as I could. At this point I didn't care If I got shot, Glenn was more important. He wasn't hurt, thank god. "You hit?" I heard Rick whisper yell. "No" Glenn stated plainly. I thought about telling him I was but quickly pushed that thought aside. "It's alright the car is right there, we're almost home." Rick said joining us behind the dumpster. "Rose, your a good shot, go with him to get to the car, your fast enough to keep up. You good?" He asked us. I nodded "Let's go." As soon as we got up, more gunshots were fired. "Hurry up we gotta get outta here! Roamers all over the place come on!" I heard a man yell to the sniper on the roof. "Jump! Hurry up!" The men in the car yelled. The guy on the roof was ready to jump. Wow they are stupid. The man jumped off, but totally missed the dumpster he was aiming for. He bounced off of a roof and fell at least 3 stories. I heard a blood curdling scream, and growls of hungry walkers. I was on edge, running on pure adrenaline. "Dude didn't make it," Glenn muttered. His buddies are leaving him. I looked up to see the truck driving away. "Get Hershel," Rick whispered. He wasn't really thinking of helping him, was he? The man who just shot at us? Maybe we're just as stupid. I rolled my eyes but went with the plan anyways. Rick ran for the man across the street. I looked back at Glenn, gave a quick shrug and ran after him. "What do we do?" I asked Rick, seeing the young man's leg impaled on the fence. "Rick! We have to go now!" Hershel said, interrupting us. "I'm sorry son we have to go" "No no please don't leave me!" The guy pleaded. "Shut up!" I whisper yelled to the kid, knowing he would attract more dead. He started to scream again. I yelled at him again, trying to keep him calm. "Shut up or I will shoot you!" Rick threatened. Glenn and I tried to keep the kid calm and look out for any walkers while Hershel tried to talk some sense into Rick. Before I knew it there were walkers everywhere. They were going to amputate his leg. "Guys, walkers!" Glenn yelled. It was a whole horde. Glenn and I both started to pick off a few dead at the front, hoping to buy them time. I could hear them arguing about something but I was to focused on shooting to know what they were arguing about. "We gotta go!!" I screamed. I know we couldn't hold them off any longer. I was able to make out what they were screaming now. We had to go, we had to leave the kid. Suddenly Rick grabbed his leg and yanked it off of the fence. I helped grab the kid and haul him to the car, picking off dead when they came to close. "Drive!" I yelled.

The ride back home was silent. I kept pressure on my calf while Glenn and Hershel kept pressure on the kids leg. When we pulled up to the farm, I couldn't help but let a wave of relief wash over me but it soon ended when I saw a cross-bow wielding figure behind the group. I felt the pit of my stomach drop and I couldn't help but feel guilty for what had happened earlier. I wonder if he actually cares about me. I think I cared, Never have before. It's all so new to me. Maybe he's the reason I get these stupid butterflies. A blush crept up to my cheeks but I pushed those thoughts away. We all got out of the car, Carl running into Ricks arms, followed by Lori. Maggie ran straight to Glenn, right past Hershel. I had no one here who worried about me, so I just got out of the car and leaned up against it. I made eye contact with a certain redneck, who gave me a small smirk. I returned it before he walked off back to his camp. What was that for? Another thing to ask about later. "Who da hell is that?" T-Dog asked, stopping Daryl. Everyone looked towards the car. "That's Randell"
