Hey guys! I edited this because looking back as an INTELLECTUAL, I realised how CRINGY this chapter is. Don't worry it's the same concept.

"If I get killed, I'm making sure phantom (Y/N) haunts all of you for eternity", I frowned, with my eyes following every step my feet took. I could feel Petra rolling her eyes at the back of my head as I glanced back to take a glimpse at her. "Take a breather. We won't let anything bad happen to you", she sort of reassured me. But, it didn't stop the anxious thoughts from flowing into my head. Caves aren't really my sort of thing. "Plus, you know how to use a sword, don't you?".

I peered down at the cobblestone built blade in my grasp and shrugged. The only time I'm ever decent at using a sword is when my adrenaline kicks in, and even then I still suck at it. Jesse glimpsed back at me as I caught his gaze. For a mere moment, we locked eye contact before he showed me a cocksure grin. "Don't worry, we're just going to get the minerals and then we'll go", he spoke with a smile.

I pouted back at him, my eyes darting to every corner of the cave. "Don't you have ores back at the Order Hall?", I asked with a hint of tension rolling off my tongue as I spoke in a murmur. "Can't we just give that to the town folks?". Jesse shrugged heedlessly, facing forward and ducking under a sticky cobweb that he almost ran into.

"This is a different type of mineral. We found out that a couple were in this cave", he explained. "We could just get them emeralds, but it's more fun this way". I narrowed my eyebrows, gradually following him as Petra urged me to move at a more accelerated pace. Jesse was a strange fellow. I have no idea how he could possibly find enjoyment in this. I would normally never go in a dim-lit cave unless it was urgent. And I have no idea how Jesse persuaded me to tag along with him and Petra.

I was so apprehensive, thinking about all the different disastrous events that might occur, that I wasn't watching where I was going until it was almost too late. Jesse gripped on to the hood of my jacket and hauled me back as I instinctively let out a shriek in hysteria. I glanced down, to see what danger Jesse once again pulled me out of, to my surprise it was a current of burning, sizzling lava. Dozens of transparent bubbles arose to the surface of the magma. They began to expand before bursting, sending drops of lava into the air. Jesse chuckled at my dismayed expression.

"What goes on in there?", he chuckled, tenderly tapping his index finger onto my temple. I giggled restlessly, hauling myself out of his grasp. "Sorry, I can be a bit absentminded", I tensely admitted, getting another courteous, yet brash shove from Petra to forcibly remind me that I was going too slow. Jesse went first, hopping over the molten lava bubbling beneath him and down onto a nearby ledge. He turned around and extended his hand out to me, which I immediately gripped onto.

With Jesse's hand still clasped in mine, I hopped down on the ledge next to him, followed by Petra. We continued travelled further into the cave, disregarding the sounds of cave spiders crawling behind us. At least, I tried to ignore the sounds. Jesse suddenly halted, causing Petra and I to stop in our tracks too. I peered over his shoulder, noticing a huge hole in the ground that prevented us from reaching the other side. The drop was way too big and we would never survive it.

I noticed a dense, leafy vine hanging from the roof. It was insignificantly swaying back and forth. Another anxious thought crossed my mind. "Please don't tell me that's our only way across", I begged, with my imploring eyes turning to glance at Jesse's. He returned to me with a poker face, with his eyes repeatedly darting from the vine to me. "It's too late to turn back now", he attempted to be sober but, ended up grinning, nonchalantly. He bent his knees slightly, curling his hands into a fist. He gave himself a running start, speeding towards the edge of the hole. When his feet reached the end, he leapt off and instantly gripped onto the vine with both hands and within seconds, swung himself onto the other side.
