I couldn't describe what it was like travelling through a vortex, but let me tell you, I was terrified. There were so many illuminated colours swirling around me like an optical illusion. Although it felt like I was drifting through dimensions or through time, I was moving at a ridiculous rate of speed it was hard to tell I was floating at all. Finally, I was able to reach the end.

Jesse and the others remained impassively outside the portal. Petra was sitting down on the cold, solid floor with her legs crossed and her mind elsewhere. Olivia was applying bandages on Lukas' foot where he cut himself. "Argh! Let's face it, she's not coming", Axel grunted, completely out of endurance. Jesse sent Axel an imploring glance as if he was requesting him to be a bit more patient. "I think we should leave before something finds us".

Jesse shook his head. "Give her some time, she'll come, I know she will", he said, defending me. Although if he was being completely honest, he was beginning to doubt my loyalty. He knew somewhere inside him that I wouldn't just abandon them, but I was taking an objectionably long time. "I really want to believe you Jesse", Petra stated, twiddling her fingers. "But I'm not sure she's going to show u--".

Petra was crudely interrupted by a stifled squeal that the others couldn't make out where it was coming from. But, before they realised where the screaming was coming from, I had already zapped through the portal, landing on the ground with a THUD!

I mourned in discomfort as I began feeling an aching pain on every part of my body. Ok, seriously, I don't care how twisted and menacing someone is, who puts a portal on the roof?

"(Y/N), would you be so kind as to GET OFF ME!", Petra grunted from below me, struggling to squirm herself from beneath my body. I stood up promptly, extending my hand down to Petra to help her up. She casually pushed my hand aside and stood up herself. Jesse sent Axel a taunting grin, crossing his arms. Axel sent him back a scowl. "Don't say it--".

"I told you so", Jesse simpered causing Axel to roll his eyes in exasperation. "Woah...", I huffed out, scanning the area, completely taken back by the corruptness. Every wall around us was fractured and slightly scorched by what looked like fire. Although the floor was made of bedrock, the foundation felt unstable as if we were standing on hovering pedestals. We were at the start of a long, dim hallway leading to who knows what.

"Ok, am I the only one getting goosebumps?", I muttered to the others. Olivia chuckled meekly, seeming just as apprehensive as I was. She shook her head adamantly, not gazing away from the deep, ominous foyer. "My goosebumps have goosebumps", she responded, rubbing her arm up and down to feel her skin tensing up.

I involuntarily backed up behind Jesse, not knowing what kind demonic evil and corrupt trauma was waiting for us at the end of that corridor. Without hesitating, Jesse stepped down the hall, into the gloom. The hushed sound of his footsteps was all that was heard, other than my heart pumping in my chest. Everyone watched in awe, waiting for Jesse to give the all-clear. He was most likely at the end, as no-one could see him anymore. But, he hadn't said anything.

"Jesse?", I called out, as my voice echoed through the walls.

No response.
