Chapter 17 (Preview)

Here's the preview. I'm just really excited for the next chapter that I HAD to give you a preview of what's to come. I know it's short but I didn't want to give too much away.

I hurried as fast as my feet could carry me, not bothering about the strands of loose hair getting on my face. I couldn't look back, as I knew what was behind me. "(Y/N), come back! I'm not going to hurt you". I resisted believing their twisted lies that were permeating my head. I needed to find the others. I needed to make sure they're safe. "You can't hide forever, (Y/N). Come out before I do something we'll both regret". I was substantially losing my mind and tried as hard as I could not to cry from the anxiety that was overhauling me. "Leave me alone! I'll never go with you!", I lamented, moving faster into the dusky woods. I got onto my knees and grovelled under the knocked-over tree. Running faster and quicker, my legs soon enough gave up on me as I plummeted to the dirt. I used my forearms to promptly support me back up. Instantly thinking, I hastily lurked behind an oak tree, covering my mouth, afraid my rapid breathing and pulsating heartbeat would give away my location. I remained soundless. Not saying anything, not doing anything.

How could I have been so absurd? I should've gone back to The Order. Now, I'm going to die! I moderately glimpsed around the tree, observing my surroundings. Thinking I was safe, I nonchalantly skimmed out from behind the tree, trying to calm myself down and withstanding the urge to squeal in panic. Abruptly, a pair of sturdy arms seized me by the waist and hauled me backwards. "You thought you could hide from me? How foolish". With his arms still around me, I thrusted and shrieked, not willing to go down without a fight. But, I couldn't break loose from his grasp. Knowing there was no use, I bawled the first name that came to my head, "JESSE!".
