Sorry, it's a little short.

"Guys? Are you there?", Jesse whispered, though his muffled voice still managed to echo through the chambers. Jesse took a small glance over his shoulder just to be extra cautious and maybe because he was also a little paranoid.

Even with an iron sword tightly gripped in his hand, Jesse still didn't feel safe. Every step was deafening as he was reminded of his slight fear of isolation. He peeked around the corner, staying alert for any more guards. The corridor was thankfully empty, but also looked the exact same as the one he had just come from, down to the bedrock. Letting out a sigh, Jesse kept his head in the game, concentrating on the important matter, finding his friends. His mouth curved down. His friends had been acting awfully secretive about the whole situation. He was positive that there was something everyone else knew that they were keeping from him.

I'm being left out of something, but what?

Well, it's not like Jesse could ask them, whether he meets up with them or not. If they are trying so hard to keep their secret, his friends were stubborn and wouldn't give in so easily. But if Jesse was just overthinking the whole thing and his friends weren't keeping anything from him, he'd surely offend them. Narrowing his brows, Jesse grunted, softly, gradually growing impatient. He felt like he was going in circles. And, he probably was.

I hope (Y/N)'s having better luck than me.

Flickering images flashed in his head. Perhaps my name was the one thing that kept Jesse from losing his sanity in this endless labyrinth. I had changed since the first time he'd met me. For the better, of course. Growing more bold and courageous, never hesitating to take the hard route, it intrigued him. Jesse's face also began to turn slightly red. There were so many other ways he could've chosen to escape the cells, why'd the first one to pop into head have to be to kiss me? Maybe because it was a split-second decision.

Jesse clicked his tongue, irritated at himself. No, now he's just making excuses for himself. He knew exactly why he did it, but he couldn't bring himself to admit it.

Jesse's eyes peered at a room he nearly past as he was lost in his thoughts. It was almost closed by a metal door but there a small gap that he could peek through. Jesse was full of hope, thinking rather optimistically. Perhaps, his friends were there, maybe it was an exit. Planting a hand on the door, Jesse peeked through the gap.

"A weapon chamber?".

From the state of it, some sort of fight took place there. The footprints and the equipment showed signs of a struggle. No one was inside though. Jesse's breath was lodged his throat when his eyes caught onto a giant copper hook attached to the wall. Bloodstained and dripped off it, splashing on the floor.

"What happened in here?", Jesse muttered to himself. He backed away from the door apprehensively. If he was being honest, he didn't want to know. But he couldn't help but question it. Did someone hurt themselves on that hook?

Jesse's eyes peered down, noticing the bloody footprints that lead down the corridor. He didn't have a clue who's they belonged to, but they were almost completely faded and dried up. Slipping the sword away, Jesse followed the tracks, careful not to step on them.

"What the--!", Jesse was abruptly taken aback with horror. It was an unsettling sight, to say the least. Rows of people trapped inside glass tubed chambers were lined against the wall in front of them. Jesse recognised some of them as the guards that patrolled the area and ambushed him and his friends. Their skin was pallid, some eyes were closed, and others had theirs open and lifeless, as hollow as a skeleton and as lifeless as a zombie. All their unconscious bodies seemed to be screaming the same thing in unison over and over while Jesse could only watch in horror.
