I've seen the 2004 movie multiple times, but I didn't know until recently there was a deleted scene with a new song. It's called No One Would Listen, and it was sung by the Phantom. I'm going to include the video above for anyone who hasn't heard it.
I know the 2004 movie doesn't have the best reputation, so I'm not sure what people think of it, but I personally really like it. It's like a little glimpse into the Phantom's thoughts and his sorrows and what's been going on in his mind. It also seems to really suit Gerard Butler's voice, and I think it's much better than his 'Music of the Night'.
Much as I like the song, I can see why it wasn't added to the movie. I think there would have been a lot more negativity towards Christine than there already is about choosing Raoul instead of the Phantom. I don't know if that's actually why it wasn't added to the movie (could be that they just didn't have the time for it), but it makes sense.
What do you think of No One Would Listen?
