Chapter 31

The weeks had passed and when the night came, I received a message from Leigh. It's been almost a month since I last saw him. At ngayon lang ulit ito nagparamdam.

I know I should expect this, since I wished for this. Ngunit hindi ko maiwasang hindi malungkot. Even if we only spend one week together, it felt years for me. Years with the family I was once dreamt. Kasama si Leigh, si Leighan at ang isa pa naming anak.

Leigh texted me to meet him. He even sent me a location and time. I wanted to ask him if he's fine, but in the end I replied okay. I don't know the reason why we should meet, but I somehow hoped that it's because he wanted to see me.

The next morning came and I did my best to put make up on my face. The one that isn't fierce, but light rather.

"Mimi, you're so beautiful..." Leighan said. He's sitting at the edge of the bed while staring cutely at me.

Nginitian ko naman ang anak mula sa salamin. "Are you excited, baby?" I asked him.

I told him that we will meet his Dada later. He's so excited about it and ended up preparing earlier. Nakasuot ito ng black pants at white T-shirt, his freshly cut hair was neatly done. I remember how he fixed his hair earlier, which he said his Dada taught him.

"Hmm... I miss Dada." he nodded. Tumayo ito at lumapit sa akin. "Do you miss Dada too, Mimi?"

Nginitian ko ang anak at ambang guguluhin ang buhok nang maalalang kakaayos lamang nito. Binaba ko agad ang kamay at pinisil na lang ang pisngi nito.

"I miss him, too..." I admitted then glanced back at the mirror. "What do you think I should use, baby?"

I asked my son's opinion about the clip I should use today. Agad naman nitong tinuro ang resin clip na may dried flowers na design. I smiled then clipped it on my hair.

"What do you think?"

"It suits you, Mimi! Dada will probably be in love with you more!"

I smiled.

I hope so...

Bahagya akong nagtaka nang marating na namin ang hotel na tinext ni Leigh. It seems like there's an ongoing party inside. Is this really the location or I've got it wrong?

"Ms. Angel Allison?" A guy approached us. He's wearing a black tuxedo.

Nakita ko ang amba sanang paglapit ng bodyguard na ina-sign sa amin ni Cylde ngunit sinenyasan ko muna ito na maghintay.

"And who you might be?" I asked him.

"Mr. Hudson is waiting inside," he said.

Nilingunan ko si Leighan. "Are we going to see Dada na?"

Nginitian ko naman ito at pinisil ang kamay niyang nakahawak sa akin. Nilingunan ko ang lalaki at tinanguan. He led us inside.

My forehead knotted when he guided us inside. Bahagya pa akong natigilan sa dami ng taong nandoon. I even saw some familiar faces. The room suddenly became dark, only the spotlight in the stage was all I can see. 

"This way, Ms. Allison," the guy said.

He guided as at the table near the stage. Magtatanong pa sana ako kung bakit dito ngunit agad na rin itong nagpaalam dahil papunta na raw si Leigh.

"Let's all welcome the center of the party, Mr. Leigh Hudson and..."

My eyes immediately darted at him when he came out on the stage. He's wearing a three piece black tuxedo. He looks cleanly neat with his new trimmed hair. Ilang linggo lang kaming hindi nagkita, ngunit parang ang dami ng nagbago rito.
