You and Shawn purposely set aside tonight to spend together. Lately, with everything going on in both of your lives, actually setting aside time to spend together has become increasingly more important as well as increasingly more difficult. However, your relationship is important to you both so putting in the time to intentionally spend together, instead of just living your lives in passing, is something you prioritize.

Knocking on Shawn's apartment door, you hear him call from somewhere inside, "Come in!" You try the handle to find that its unlocked despite the amount of times you've told him that he should keep it locked.

When you enter, he's coming toward you from the direction of his bedroom. He greets you in the kitchen. "Hi baby, I missed you." He says with a smile, wrapping his arms around you.

"I missed you too," You respond, leaning into him. You drop your bag on the ground. Immediately, you two gravitate towards the couch, where you sit together and talk. Its nothing serious. He asks about your exam, and you ask about the studio. Even though you saw him last two days ago, and you text everyday, it is still important to catch up in person.

After a little while, Shawn asks, "Are you hungry?"
You shrug a bit, "A little."

"We can have dinner at that one place you like, the Italian restaurant, because I made reservations."
"You made reservations?" You question, surprised.

He nods, "Yeah, I wasn't sure what you wanted, and I knew if I asked earlier you would say you didn't know. So I just made the reservations just in case." He tells you. And you're filled with love for him. You're grateful he's so thoughtful and knows you so well.
You know exactly what restaurant he's talking about. "That was really sweet baby." You tell him, leaning into him. "What time is the reservation?"

"I made it for seven, but I can cancel the reservation no problem. Because another option is we just stay in and order Chinese takeout and change into comfy clothes and pretend like we have no responsibilities." As soon as you hear those words, you can't help the smile that crosses your face. He takes that as your answer, pulling you closer to him on the couch and kissing you gently on the forehead. "I'll order the food. Do you want anything besides noodles and orange chicken?" He questions, already knowing your go-to order.

"Yeah, can I get an egg roll?"

He nods, already dialing the number.

An hour later, you two have eaten far too much Chinese food, and you're still on his couch in his living room. You turn around staring out at the view. "Babe?" You question, catching his attention from where it was focused on his guitar, since he was busy playing around with it.

"Mhmm?" He responds, looking up at you, but still strumming mindlessly.
"Come outside with me?" You ask.

"Outside
"Yeah, well on the balcony."

"But its cold." He replies.
"Shawn, please, I want to look at the pretty lights." He stares at you for a moment, and you can practically see what he's thinking, that you can see the lights just fine from where you're sitting now since he has huge windows.

But he doesn't say any of these things. He only puts his guitar down, and mumbles in agreement before disappearing into his bedroom and returning with two sweatshirts. He hands one to you wordlessly before pulling the other one over his head.

"Only because I love you." He says before opening the door for you to walk outside.

"I love you too, Shawn. So much." You tell him. The love you have for him only ever grows. The cool air hits you, and you cant take your eyes off of the pretty lights. You hear Shawns sharp intake of breath as the cold hits him too, but soon his body comes up behind you. He wraps his arms around you, making you feel warm.

"Okay baby," he says, sounding like he's still trying to figure you out. "What are we doing out here?"

"Just looking." You feel him nod his head, and he stands there behind you, completely still. He holds you in his arms, keeping you cozy and warm.

It only takes about five minutes before you're content enough to go back inside. Once you're inside and warm again, Shawn turns on a movie. You cuddle closer to him, letting yourself fall asleep in the comfort and safety of his arms.

The feeling of someone trying to move you pulls you from your sleep. Your eyes flutter open, and you see Shawn moving around you. "Sorry babe," He says quietly. "You'll be more comfortable in my bed."

"I'm tired," You mumble the only coherent thought that comes to your mind in that moment.
"I know, hun. Lets get you to bed." He starts to lift you, but you start waking up more.

"I can walk." You tell him, "I have to brush my teeth anyway." You respond, squirming out of his arms and managing to stand up. You walk, wanting to keep your eyes closed because you're that tired. You momentarily forget that you really need to have your eyes open to walk, so you close them. You're stopped from moving forward when Shawns arm wraps around your waist and pulls you back a little.

"You almost walked into the wall." You hear his voice, before he steers you away from the wall. "Its this way." He tells you before walking beside you, his arm around to steer you in the right direction.

Once in the bathroom, he hands you your toothbrush and you brush your teeth. By the time you're finished, you're now mostly awake, although you know you'll be able to fall right back asleep as soon as you make it to bed with Shawn. He brushes his teeth alongside you and it doesn't take long for you to both be ready for bed.

You crawl into his fluffy bed. His bed is one of the most comfortable beds you've ever been in, and its one of your favorite places as long as he's beside you. You kiss him lightly, mumbling a goodnight before you feel him pull you a little closer to himself and you let yourself fall back asleep.
