Struggling to pull out his apartment keys out of the pocket of the tight skinny jeans Shawn sighed and switched the guitar to his left hand, now finally managing to get the keys out and open the door with his dominant hand. It was past midnight when he arrived at the home and slowly opening the door he wouldn't expect to see not just only his girlfriend but also his sister, Aaliyah on the couch in the living room. Their miniature bodies were cuddled up against each other under a big white blanket, and Shawn smirked at the thought that he always found both of them to have small bodies, but again, wasn't everybody small compared to him? He accurately pushed the door closed with his back while putting off the guitar next to the wall, and Y/N heard him. She quickly turned her head to the doorway, and as soon as Shawn's eyes met her, she raised her finger to her mouth and mouthed him 'shh' indicating that Aaliyah was asleep. The big TV screen that Shawn bought himself as a Christmas gift thinking it was a good addition to his apartment lightened up their faces with blue color as some kind of Disney movie was playing in the background. Shawn couldn't help himself but smile widely at Y/N shortly nodding to her to let her know that he won't wake up Aaliyah. Y/N's eyes followed him as he walked into the kitchen and a few seconds later he turned on the lights. She was growing impatient as he was not coming back, and hesitant whether to leave Aaliyah sleeping on the couch or wait for Shawn to come back and do something? Meanwhile, Shawn was waiting for her in the kitchen. He knew she would follow him up there since they haven't seen each other the whole day; he left for the studio early in the morning, and it was past midnight now. Shawn did not expect to see Aaliyah at their apartment a few days in a row, but he didn't mind it. The biggest concern he ever had was his family not liking Y/N, but Aaliyah's attitude towards her always proved him the opposite, and he would always feel comfortable leaving Y/N with his family whenever Aaliyah was around.
He was right; Y/N walked into the kitchen carefully tiptoeing giving him a sleepy smile, rubbing her eyes with the back of her hand. Shawn threw one last look into the living room to find Aaliyah's head now resting on the back of the couch with a big pillow underneath instead of his girlfriend's shoulder. He then carefully close the door into the kitchen and turned around to pull Y/N into a hug.
"How was your day?" she mumbles still sleepily, wrapping her arms around his neck letting him place a kiss to her temple.
"Wrote a song. Yours?"
"It was so much fun," he could feel her smiling as she whispered, afraid to wake up Aaliyah.
Shawn always admired the way Y/N respected people around her. He found her to be so similar to him as if they knew each other since childhood; thus shared the same views. But they didn't; they just happen to be so alike in their thinking that it seemed like they've known each other more than a year. Shawn loved caring about others; he would always go out of his way to make others feel good. Y/N was just like him, he thought, she was more than that. Shawn was convinced that her heart was the kindest and the purest one, he knew she was better than him, and he didn't mind it.
