Eren pulls at the key again. "They were killed by some men looking for my mother's sister. I was in another room, and heard the shots. I ran out of the house and was chased down to a theatre. I tried to find somewhere to hide or someone to help me but no one would let me in and shrugged me off. The men ended up cornering me into an alley and when I couldn't answer the questions they had, they shot me."

"You said you knew who it was," Bean pesters, still not believing his story.

Eren hesitates, as if he is questioning his own story and it's believably.

"Well?" Sawney asks impatiently.

"Nicholas Lovof," he whispers. Sawney and Bean don't hear, and Hanji is the only one to react.

"The super successful businessman who owns, like everything?" They ask, exaggerating the man's success.

It wasn't super far off though, as he did own many casinos, hotels, theaters, and research facilities. Not to mention he owned all of the
hospitals in Eren's old home, and had crooked police officers, politicians, and doctors to do his dirty work. It made sense why Eren was against going to the hospital.

Eren slowly nods, "Yeah, him."

"Who?" Bean asks, his brow furrowed.

"Lovof," I state loud enough so both can hear.

"As in?" Sawney starts, fear and resentment dripping from his voice.

The brothers were once part of Lovof's staff, but disliked everything he had them do, so they left and came to us, hiding from Lovof just as we hide from the public. If they hadn't, they would have been killed. Lovof dislikes loose ends and they could fringe at any moment and possibly destroy his operations. He's probably thankful for their lack of balls and tight lips.

"Yes." I cross my arms and lean back into the seat.

"Eren, we're so sorry," Sawney hangs his head, ashamed of his actions.

"We should have let you explain before assuming anything," Bean also adds and looks down to the floor.

Eren looks to me, surprise sparkling in his eyes, as if asking me for words to say. I wouldn't say anything being in his position.

"Now that that's all cleared up, we should keep moving," Hanji says, looking at the time quickly. Sawney and Bean nod, still avoiding Eren's gaze as they stand up and move to the front.

"Here," Mike says as he hands Eren a bag of beef jerky. Eren smiles and nods a thank you before taking and opening the bag. Mike smiles before grabbing the rest of us a snack and tossing it to us.

"Nothing seems to effect you two to much," Eren observes, watching Mike walk away.

"And what do you mean by that brat?" I ask, opening my snack.

"I mean that you and Mike don't express emotion a lot, in fact, he does it more than you. Hanji can't contain their emotions, and Sawney and Bean act purely on it." He rips a piece of jerky and places it in his mouth. After eating it, he looks at me. "Thank you for stopping them. It may be stupid or crazy for me to say this, but I knew the moment you got in between us, I would be okay as long as I trusted you."

"Tch, you put a lot of faith in someone you barely know." I roll my eyes and look at him.

"I do," he blushes, looking down at the jerky.

I ruffle his hair, the urge just seeming natural and compulsive. He looks to me, smiling this idiotic smile that only a brat like him could have. My heart flutters a little, sending my gaze out the window. The bus starts up and we continue on our way. It's about an hour before Eren drifts to sleep and his limp body rests on me again.

The sane part of me wants to push him off, especially when Hanji begins taking blackmail photos, but I don't, chalking it up to not wanting to worsen his wound. Hanji smiles at me and scrolls through the camera roll, pointing out all the cute pictures.

Many hours and even more miles pass by before we get to our destination. The hotel we had arranged to stay at had given us three rooms. Normally it would be one for the Kyojins, one for Mike and I, and the last for Hanji. With Eren added to our group, we have to add him to the sleeping situation and it boils down to a coin toss to see who would sleep with Mike and who would stay with Eren. Three rigged coins later I accept the fact that Hanji was not about to sleep with Eren. He miraculously stays asleep through our discussion and only awakes when we begin to discuss dinner plans.

It's not that I don't want to sleep with Eren, I just think it would be better for him to sleep in the same room with a doctor. The fact that I would benefit from my damn heart not freaking out was just a plus.

"We don't have anything left to cook," Mike starts, bringing me back to the decision at hand.

"So we'll eat out," Hanji shrugs. "Nothing too fancy, just fast food." The idea makes Mike's skin crawl. "It's not like we eat it that often and with Eren injured like this, we'll be forced to get it to go."

"Glasses has got a point," I sigh, Mike reluctantly agreeing with me.

"So which are we wanting?" Hanji asks, visibly excited they won the argument. "Eren, you choose."

"Well, I," Eren stammers, "I'm not sure, somewhere with cheese burgers." He shrugs, not really narrowing down the options.

"Check in is coming up soon, so it'll have to be close to the hotel," Sawney suggests.

Hanji pulls out the map again and finds the hotel, then searches for fast food restaurants around it.

"There's a Freddy's nearby," they report.

"That sounds awesome right now," Bean says, a smile present in his voice. Mike nods, knowing that it could have been worse.

I look to Eren, a large smile present on his stupid face.

"I guess we're all in agreement then," I say, looking back to Hanji.
