I glance at Eren over the paper, he's been staring at me, trying to figure out what I'm reading. I consider my options for a moment before handing him the paper. I can tell the idea makes him uncomfortable.

“Suggested is Hanji’s key word there,” I say, crossing my arms. “I think it should be mandatory, considering that you were in the trash.”

Eren reads over it again.

“You can cover up with a towel in the bathtub, I'll only help with your top half. We'll worry about the last part when we get there,” I explain as I walk to the bathroom to get the tub started. I'm not giving him the choice.

“Oh, okay,” he says, almost as a question.

I return with a towel and hand it to him before heading to one of my bags.

“Hurry up and get undressed.” I return to the bathroom with my soaps and test the water. I turn off the faucet once I think it's filled enough.

“I'm done!” Eren calls.

When I enter the main room again, Eren has the towel wrapped around his waist. I lightly peel off the bandage so I don't hurt him by accident.I look up to see his face, it's not filled with lack of comfort right now, but of embarrassment. He stares back at me for a moment before looking away. I pick him up gently and walk to the side of the tub before placing him in.

The towel quickly soaks in the water, but he's covered. I leave once more and return with my set of towels. I roll up my jean legs and turn on the shower head, testing the water as I also grab my washcloth. Once I'm sure the water won't burn him I sit on the ledge behind him, drenching his hair. Instinctively, we both do the best we can to keep the water from his eyes. He looks up and I keep the water angle back to me.

I'm drenching myself as I do so, but it doesn't bother me too much. I turn off the water after I get his back and chest wet as well. He uses the wash cloth to dry his wound. I shampoo his hair, since reaching up can stretch his stitches. His hair is slightly tangled as I move my fingers through the strands.

“Tell me if it hurts,” I say, brushing his hair.

I can see his reflection in the water as he closes his eyes and smiles, leaning his head into my hands. I smirk and continue to work the dirt and tangles from the brown locks.

I stop for a moment and start to turn on the water when he stops me. I scowl at him as he turns to me. He motions for me to lean towards him, so I do just that. He puts a wet finger on both sides of my lips. He pushes them upward into a smile, then lets go. My lips fall back down and he pouts at it. He tries once again with the same result.

“What are you doing brat?”

“Making you smile,” he says, trying again.

“Why?” I ask with my lips pushed into my cheek bones.

“Because I haven't seen you smile.” He releases my lips again, still not achieving his goal. “Plus it'd make me feel better.”

I flick water at him, making him put up his arms in defense. He scowls at me before splashing me, drenching my hair with water. My hair covers my face as he parts it back.

“Sorry, Levi,” he hesitantly says. He stares at me for a moment, more specifically at my smile. I roll my eyes at him, still smiling as I push my hair back.

“Feel better?” I ask. He nods and turns back around.

I shake my head and turn on the water to rinse his hair. He leans his head back again as the soap rushes down his back and into the water. My smile stays for a little while longer, and Eren's grows with a sense of victory behind them. I wet a washcloth and add some soap to it, before handing it to Eren.

He starts to wash his chest gently, then moves to his arms. As he does that, I run conditioner through his hair. He hands me the washcloth when he finished his arms  and I get his back for him. I hand it back to him and he gets the rest of his body, careful to keep himself covered. I rinse his hair once more until I'm sure nothing remains. I drain the tub and hand Eren a dry towel.

“Leave the wet one in there,” I say as I turn away.

“Okay I'm good,” he reports. I turn back around and hand him a towel for his chest before picking him up.

The steam falls into the room as I open the door and set him down on the bed. I grab another towel and begin to dry his hair. Eren dries himself off and stays wrapped up in the towel. I take the first two towels and place them in the bathroom folded.

I go to my bag again and find some boxers, sweat pants, and a shirt for him to use as PJs. After handing them to him I return to the bathroom to reorganize the soaps. I can hear him struggling with something and return to the room. He got the boxers and sweatpants on, but he's having trouble with the shirt again. Once more I help pull the soft fabric over his skin. He leans into me and sighs.

“I'm sorry that I'm so helpless.”

“What?” I ask, lifting his head up so I can see his face.

“I'm sorry I can't do anything without your help.” He looks away.

“Eren, don't apologize for that,” I sternly state.”Anyone would need help after being shot.”

“I'm not just talking about that, I also mean how you're doing so much for me, stuff I should be able to do for myself, like pay for a meal.”

“What do you expect? You're a wanted person, the first time you use your credit card or access your bank account the police will be all over you.”

Eren closes his eyes, tears starting to slip through. He leans his head into my shoulder and wraps his arms around me. Eren begins to cry and tremble, the room going quiet as his sobs fill my ears. I bring him closer to me and protectively wrap my arms around him.

It's in this position the brat falls asleep a half hour later. I pick him up again and get him into the bed and under the covers. I turn off most of the lights, picking up his clothes as I head to the bathroom. I take a quick shower to rid myself of the concert sweat and last day's dirt. I'm quiet as I return to the room and get into my PJs. I stay up for a little while longer, writing some lyrics on the hotels notepad. I doze off on the couch, in the same sitting position I had earlier.
