We eat our food as Bean and Mike leave to check us into the hotel. The steak burgers are perfectly made, unlike in some places. The only thing that doesn't change is the fry sauce, that's said to be addicting. I have to have a little every time we go there, although too much makes me feel sick.
It doesn't seem to have the same effect on everyone though. Sawney doesn't particularly enjoy it, Mike likes it if it's the spicy version, and Bean and Hanji love it. Eren also seems to like it as he stuffs his face with the small fries and cheesy steak burger. He reminds me of some super predator that authors and other creative people use to devour unnecessary characters when they need something new to show to their audience.
'I can't remember all of those names!'
'Don't worry, they'll all be devoured in the next episode.'Most of us are finished by the time Mike and Bean return with the room cards. We're set up to spend two nights there. Eren stares at the cards, fear glinting in his eyes.
"Lovof doesn't run this one," Sawney softly explains. "Bean and I aren't exactly on friendly terms with him either." He chuckles.
"We tend to stay away from his hotels, just in case," Bean shrugs.
Eren nods his head, understanding why they were so apologetic and embarrassed before. Hanji stands up and throws away their garbage. They wash their hands thoroughly before walking to Eren.
"Let me see the wound real quick Eren," they say.
He sits up straighter and slowly lifts up his shirt. Hanji carefully removes the wrap to look over the wound. Eren winces slightly as the wrap is removed and the wound is revealed
"No infection and it seems to be healing quickly," They report. The wound is already starting to turn black on top and there's no bleeding. "I keep telling you Levi, you've got some super blood."
I deepen my scowl. "Don't start with that Shitty Glasses."
"You still won't let me put it to the real test," they pout.
"Tch, like I ever would."
Eren chuckles at the spat between us, his smile catching my eye. He doesn't comment on the matter, but it still amuses him. Hanji dabs some neosporin on the stitches before covering it up again with a large patch. I can't help but notice his uncomfortable look as Hanji doctors him up. Did he have the same look as I did the same? I can't seem to recall.
We all take turns bringing what we need into our rooms, so someone is always with Eren. The rooms are all in a row and Eren's and mine is the only one not connected with anyone else's. Once I get back from the room, Hanji hands me a small bag.
"For Eren." is all they say before leaving to their room.
I get on the bus and look to Eren.
"Mike told me that I was sharing a room with you Levi," he says, making sure I already knew about it.
"Yeah, it shouldn't be that bad," I state. I pick him up and begin carrying him to the room. Eren looks uncomfortable again as we pass some people.
"What's wrong?" I ask.
"Aren't you afraid of people thinking you're gay?" he whispers.
"People will think what they want, I couldn't care less."
"How can you be so calm about it?"
"I just don't think about it," I answer, "It's easy when you're not exclusively a heterosexual."
"If you're not straight then what are you?"
I pause, more people look at us from both ends of the spectrum, disgusted and borderline fangirling. I sigh and look to Eren again, adjusting him slightly in my arms so I can whisper to him.
"How about this Eren, we'll hold off on personal questions until we get into the room, then I'll answer." He nods and keeps his eyes on me. I assume it's to avoid eye contact with the others.
I open the room and close the door behind me. I set Eren down on the bed and the care bag on the bedside table before walking around the room to turn up the heat and turn on lights. After doing so I slip off my shoes and socks.
"Um Levi?" Eren looks at the room. "This is the only bed."
"Get to the point brat."
"Two of us, one bed," he turns away from me, turning slightly red.
"Plus a couch." I gesture to it.
"That wouldn't be comfortable to sleep on."
"Good thing you're not sleeping on it."
"It wouldn't be fair for you."
"This isn't up for debate, you're injured, you're sleeping on the bed."
Eren sighs but then looks to me.
"So you were saying about your sexuality?"
"Curious aren't we brat?" I smirk a tiny bit, making him look away with a blush on his cheeks. "I guess you could call me omisexual. Except Hanji would specifically mention 'tall people'."
I would say that too, considering I never liked or dated anyone the same height or shorter than me (Hanji would also mention that it's not that hard to meet that requirement). Out of the four people I dated in high school, they all varied in what they identified as, but all were taller. Nowadays I find being in a secret band that nearly everyone knows makes it hard to date.
"So now it's your turn Jaeger," I say as I sit on the other side of the bed.
"What do you mean?"
"What's your orientation Eren?"
"I can't honestly answer. I didn't crush on anyone in grade school, but I started crushing recently, so I'm confused about it right now."
"Confused at age twenty?" I pause for a moment. "You haven't experienced what the world has to offer then, aside from being shot and framed by a rich prick."
"I guess not." He chuckles.
"Well, if you like staying with us after you heal, you're welcome to stay and tour with us, I was wanting to do more sightseeing anyways."
"That sounds nice but," he looks to his stomach.
"But?"
"But I'm going to get justice for my family," he looks to me, his animalistic eyes blossoming with determination. "By any means necessary."
Those eyes make my heart skip with fear and inspiration, a feeling that seems natural to have.
"Alright, and I'll help you, not that I doubt your determination. I just think you'll need funding and protection." I nod to him, his eyes have a film of gratitude slightly covering his determination.
"Thank you Levi."
"Don't mention it."
I move to the care package Hanji left for Eren. They put suggestions inside on a tiny piece of paper, the first reading; bathing, keep stitches from soaking in the water, he'll need help, but it's highly suggested.
