Chapter Ten: The August Contact.
I'm not going to talk to either of them.
Yes! I am not!..
Well, that was me three hours ago.. After they put my favourite cat confection - catty crunchies - under my nostrils and blinked at me with puppy dog eyes.
Well, who can say no to cat crunchies? I bet you can..
But what about puppy dog eyes?.. I bet you can't..
So now, I'm reclining on the balcony railing of Roxy's room, fully sated, free of unforgiveness and basking under the warmth of the sunlight while listening to Roxy conduct her romantic rendezvous in the privacy of her sleeping quarters.
With you know who...
Life can't get any better now, can it?

If there is another word that is synonymous to the word 'depressed', I'll gladly accept it for what I'm feeling right now, sitting on the floor and gripping my hair like a deranged lunatic.
Would you like to hear the good news first or the bad news?
Right! The good news!
When I told David to leave me alone, he did. The freaking bugger actually did! He not only left me standing there at the balcony and staring after the door he exited through like a lunatic but he actually left the party after he got an oath from me to resume working for him on Monday. I had to go out and reassure Ben and his family that he hadn't murdered me, chopped me into many tiny pieces and stuffed me inside his pockets.
The relieved looks on their faces was enough for me to know that they actually thought David was capable of doing it.
Makes me wonder how the beef with Ben and his father started..
I know you're probably wondering why there's a bad news too.
Well, this morning, Roxie had announced our departure during breakfast. I was feeling so super-duper awesome that I even allowed Tobi's advances.
I was trying to neatly arrange my belongings into my suitcase while humming merrily to one of Dua Lipa's songs when my phone rang.
"Hello?"
"Sasa"
"OhmyGod! Ferdie! Is this you?!"
The rich sound of his laughter greeted my ears. "Sí, one and only", he replied in that sweet Spanish accent that was spuriously his. And he didn't want to get rid of.
"How are you? Where are you? Are you still alive? – he chuckled at that –When am I going to see you again? And most of all, Why the hell are you calling me so soon? We spoke just two days ago. If its about more money, I can swear to you that I don't have a penny"
"Ah! Sasa! You wound me! Since when has it become a crime to check up on my big sister?", he said with mock pain, but you could hear the amusement in his voice.
I rolled my eyes and threw my neatly folded white blouse into the suitcase, assuming it was Ferdie. "I don't have any money, Fernando"
He laughed at my blunt reply. "I don't need money, Endra"
My ears shot up at that. "You don't?"
I had to ask again to be completely sure I heard what he had said the first time. That Fernando Axel Montez doesn't need more money.
