Chapter Three: The Dark and Cold 'Not so Little' Devilkin.

The weekends flew by so fast, with the girls cheering themselves up with outings to movie houses and shopping sprees, spa visits, movie marathons at home, gossiping and all those other things girls so love to do.

Roxy was trying to get over the son of a dung, and I'm happy she was finally going out again.

Endra, on the other hand, was always looking out the window at every given hour. I actually thought she was expecting someone, but then I noticed the worry lines wrinkling her face, and she looked scared. She'd receive a text on her phone, and then she'd freeze up in panic when she read through it.

She even took extra precautions by always closing the windows and rechecking the locked door before she went to bed. When asked, her reply was..

"Doesn't hurt to be too careful in this area", she would say and give off a nervous laugh.

Now that's suspicious simply because I know this neighbourhood is a cab away from heaven...

Sometimes, she would be staring off into space while in a conversation with her friend. Roxy would have nudged her back to life.

"Earth to Endra", she would snap her fingers in front of her face. "You weren't listening to anything I said, were you?"

"What..? Yeah! No, I'm just a little distracted lately, I'm sorry"

"More like a lot", Roxy threw back at her. I could tell she was trying to keep her anger in check.

"I said I was sorry", Endra threw her hands up in exasperation.

"What is wrong with you? Are you in some kind of trouble at work or something? I can help you, you know that"

"No. It's nothing. I'm fine", Endra said, not looking into her friend's eyes.

Roxy narrowed her eyes at her friend. "You're lying. Something is definitely wrong"

Durh!

"Nothing is wrong. I would have told you already", Endra dismissed her.

"You're hiding something"

Apparently!

"Me? Pfft! No!", she gave off a nervous laughter.

Now my curiosity was peaked..

What? Never heard of a curious cat?
I'm about to tell you that it's not just stereotypical..

It's a fact..

"Endra... I know you, you just lied", Roxy prodded.

"Just drop it, Rox. Jesus!", Endra would yell and walk out.

"I'm not giving up on you that easily, I'll find out", Roxy would yell after her.

That's how the conversation would go every time she spaces out.

Sighs, sometimes I just want to strangle Endra baby so she could tell us what she's gotten herself into..

And then, It was finally Monday again and Endra baby was reluctant to go to the office. She used to always be excited to go to her working place but now, even a blind man could see that it felt like she were being forced into the gates of hell.

Now, I think I have a lead. The problem seems to be coming from the working place. I just need to find out what kind of problem it is.
