Chapter Nineteen II: Our Favourite Reunition..
I'm so excited about meeting the Dumontes again..
Well, not all of them per se, Just one.. My favourite chummy buddy, Violetta.. Don't you just love how she takes good care of me? How she pays perfect attention to all my needs and wants, running her clean, manicured fingers through my fur and adjusting the collar to its perfect fit for me..
Damn Roxy and her indifference towards my welfare! She almost throttled me to extinction today when she hurriedly strapped me in the collar and dragged me out of our living quarters in her haste to get here..
At least, Endra would have being more attentive..
Recently, I could tell that Lettie seemed more troubled than when she got here because she'd been absentmindedly stroking a particular spot on my back. I'm not complaining, though. Just being observant.
I'm no psychic, but I can deduce that she's just worried about that good-fer-nothing boy who calls himself Fernando Montez. I don't know why she would bother so much about him, though.
Crap! I don't know why anyone bothers about him..
I mean, Just look at her! Look at her!
She's pretty, attractive, intelligent, lovely, loaded with wealth, takes care of me, and she's even got good dress sense.. When she's not wearing those floral printed, cinderella-ish rubbish I always warn her about..
Well, I guess love renders you utterly and completely useless, after all..
The silly female even had the guts to refuse going home when she was asked by her Dad. All because she wanted to be here when Sleeping Stupid awakens from his slumber.
Talk about wasting precious time worrying over Ferdie when you could be riding in that shiny expensive car with your Father right now, or some other young good looking member of the opposite sex.. You know what?.. I'm not even going to bother myself with trying to understand you anymore..
I zoned back into their recent conversation, not before giving Violetta the hairy eyeball to let her know my resentful feelings towards her right now.
"...sicko!", I heard Roxy say.
I sighed happily. Nothing like a good ol' friendly banter to put me in the right mood..
"Call me whatever, you're still going to pay for that damn door you broke", Endra replied dryly.
"In my defence, the hinges were already rattling"
No, they weren't..
"Yeah, that's what they do when they're slammed open and shut a thousand times a day", she contradicted.
Really, Endra? A thousand times? That was not slightly exaggerated at all..
Roxy threw her hands up in exasperation. There's no winning with Endra. "Fine! Have it your way then"
"I always have it my way, Rox. I thought you would know that now, being my best friend and all"
"Your most familiar enemy, you forget to mention", Roxy corrected.
Endra rolled her eyes at the childish female. From the corner of my own eyes, I saw the figure of Roxy's mother drawing nearer to our campsite.
Huh? When did she even leave here?
"Endra dear, Louis would like to have a word with you. Sayrah too", The older but still flawlessly remarkable Dumonte stretched out the answering device to Endra.
