It has been raining for the past few hours and I have been up before it started. It is currently around 6:00a.m. and I am sitting at my desk looking through my open window, watching as the rain comes crashing down. It's a nice way to calm your mind down from everything happening in your life.
A week has passed since I was forced to go the movies with them. The night went well, but after I didn't hear much of them. I don't know if I did something or if they were all just busy... but whatever the reason was, I am happy and sad about it. Happy I finally get some peace and quiet and time to myself. Sad because when I have time to myself I tend to do a lot of thinking... and not the good, creative kind of thinking. No, the kind you never want you children to ever think about. The kind of thought that can turn a sweet, innocent girl into a suicide driven adult.
The last few days I have been doing a lot of watching it rain while sitting on the porch out front. It is quite calming if I may say so myself. It may have also helped that Mindy and Tom have both been working a lot lately since it was the 'busy time of the year'. But I know they both really like their jobs so I never complain about them not being here.
My head is snapped up from my book when someone knocks on the door. I put my book down and walk out of my room and down the stars to the door. I automatically open the door to refrain from anymore loud knocking. Two taller men stare back at me as I hold the door in front of half my face.
"Hello." I say to the people standing on my door. I look at both of the men's faces and don't recognize them. Both are well built, telling by how tight their shirts are, and look like they belong in a biker gang. "Can I help you?"
"Are you," One of the guys looks down at the package in his hands as the other guy just looks at me. They both look younger than I thought at first glance."Victoria Lexington?"
"Yes." I answer quietly while looking at the package in his hands. He nods then smiles before handing it to me.
"Have a good day miss." The one who has been staring at me says with a gritty smile. I nod my head at him then watch them turn their backs and walk back into the rain. Well, that was creepy. I slam he door and make sure to lock it before I go up to my room. I wait until I am completely in my room and settled on my bed to rip the package open. On top of a yellow colored bag was a folded note.
'Thought you would like this, so I made sure my friends brought it to you personally. After you open the package you will know who it's from'
I turn the note over, looking for a name but find no such luck. I crumble it up and throw it in the trash can next to my desk. My heart races as I look into the box. I slowly bring my hand to the bag and jump when the door bell rings.
"Shit." I mutter under my breath to myself then throw the package on my desk and run downstairs. I swing the front door open again and look at the soaking wet person standing there.
"Hey." Sam smiles at me.
"Did you walk here?" I ask and he shrugs.
"I wanted to talk to you." He says and I nod letting him inside. "I didn't get much chances to see you this week."
"You could have just texted me. It's 2018 after all." I turn back around to see him taking his shoes off. "I'll go get a towel. Stay here."
"Okay." He says with a piercing smile as I turn my back to go to the bathroom. When I grab a towel and come back, he is gone. "Sam?"
"In your room." He yells from upstairs. Why did I expect him to actually stay where he was? Climbing the stairs I hear shuffling in my room, meaning he was opening something. I ran into my room holding the towel out for him.
