Still no word from Sanctum. Colonel Saphran said it can take a while, but I'm getting more and more anxious as time goes by. Thankfully, I didn't have to train yesterday since I'd spent the prior night working as an overnight guard. Today, I was back on guard duty (thankfully, I wasn't put back in the bunker to guard that afflicted). It was better than sitting around worrying about the diseased... person being kept in the camp.
In a few days, several trainees are going on their first mission. That includes me, if I don't confess to being an imperfect beforehand. I still can't do that, though--not until I know that Sanctum is the place I need to go. I can't risk being trapped there, unable to seek out Sara on my own.
Details of the mission were vague--seems we're heading into Renewer-dominated territory to seek out possible survivors. Another group--one with more experienced soldiers--is heading to America to destroy the facility responsible for creating the Renewer gas.
I'm not sure which mission sounds more harrowing. Hopefully, I won't be going on either of them.
