"You're hiding something from me! I can feel it!" You yelled as Joe turned his back on you. In truth his eyes were changing colors rapidly as his anger grew. He was only trying to protect you from his reality.

"You don't understand, Y/N. Even if I was hiding something it wouldn't be anything you need to know. It's personal and we've only been dating for a month. You're being irrational," Joe responded as he tried to control himself. He was speaking but his words weren't what he truly wanted to say.

You shook your head and scoffed. You felt disrespected. "So you're not taking this serious then? A month of my life has been dedicated to you and think hiding something from me is the way to go. Be honest with yourself, Joe. The month we've spent together hasn't been exactly normal. There's something more between us. I know you feel it too. Just like I can feel that your keeping something from me. J-Just tell me. I won't yell or tell you to go away. I just want to know. Please."

Joe felt an ache in his chest as he sensed that you were on the verge of tears. His intention was never to hurt you and by having the best intentions he was doing just that. The two of you had known each other for a short time but the love was obvious. Especially because Joe had been waiting for you for over a century. He was in love with you and he hated himself for what he was about to do.

"I'm trying to keep you safe," he whispered even though he was changing slowly. His eyes had already made an appearance. One burned a fiery gold while the other was blood red. It took everything in him to keep his true form from appearing. He would wait to show you everything. He figured just showing his eyes and maybe a growl would persuade you enough without scaring you.

Joe remained facing away from you as he began breathing hard. You noticed the muscles on his back grow larger and more defined. You gasped but kept your eyes on him. "You have to promise not to scream," he said as he began breathing harder. His breathes were laced with animalistic growls which caused you cover your mouth.

"I wanted to keep this from you until I felt you were ready but I can't stand the thought of you being upset with me. So, Y/N, this is who I really am," he said before turning to face you.

The tears that had collected in your eyes fell down your cheeks as you screamed into your hand. Your body shook as you tried to register what you were seeing. His eyes were boring through you as his own tears escaped his eyes. The faint growl rumbling in the room grew louder as Joe became more upset. He was growing sadder as he listened to the fast pace of your heart. You were scared of him and it was breaking his heart.

"What the fuck?" You yelled in relief. You began laughing  through your tears as Joe gave you a concerned look. Great, I made her crazy.

"I thought you were cheating on me! This is so much better!" You yelled. Joe still looked concerned but cracked a smile as he heard your heartbeat slow down. 

"You don't even know what I am. I'm a dangerous being and me being this is better than me cheating on you?" He asked in disbelief.

You nodded and took a step towards him, "I don't care about what you are. I just want to be yours." You meant every word you said. Though the man you'd gained unexplainable feelings for was growling and staring at you with two different colored eyes, you felt the same you had before he'd revealed himself.

Joe smiled and approached you in a impossible speed before wrapping you in his arms. "The years I spent waiting for you are worth it for this exact moment," he whispered.

You blushed and furrowed your brow, "What do you mean?"

"I guess I should tell you what I am now. Some might call me a mutt or a mixed breed. I originally came from a wolf pack but during a raid I was bitten by a vampire and I've been both ever since. Does that make sense? I'm trying to explain this without sounding like Twilight." Joe said with a nervous look in his eyes.

You smiled, "You're a hybrid? A werewolf and vampire. I'm dating a hybrid! Klaus Mikaelson would be so jealous!"

You squealed and kissed Joe with all your might. He kissed you back before burying his head in your neck. "You're a weird human but you're my weird human." He whispered.

You were just happy to know that you weren't being cheated on and in fact you were dating a hybrid. You'd always believed in the unbelievable and now you couldn't be happier.
