Chapter 18

**If chapter 17 didn't show up then I have a note called "important" that explains it after my chapter 40!!**

*HAYES POV*

"I dare you to kiss Hayes. For at least 5 seconds." Cameron said to Grace. Her face went blank and then it turned red. I felt my face heating up. Damn it, why did she have to say dare? I honestly don't even like Megan, but I don't want her to get mad when I kiss Grace. Obviously I still love Grace, and I don't want to loose her.

We scooted closer to each other and it was really awkward. I decided to make the first move. I leaned in sort of slow. She did the same and our lips crashed together. I instantly felt sparks like I always do when I kiss her. I hope she still feels them, because mine will never go away.

Our lips moved in sync for almost 10 seconds. We heard "Ooooohhhss!" from everyone and pulled away.

She slightly smiled at me and I returned with a smile. Then I realized Megan was staring at me and her eyes were getting watery. Shit Hayes why did you have to look like you liked it in front of her.

Grace looked away and Megan got up and walked away. I didn't want to go after her but I thought I should so I did.

*GRACE POV*

Our lips connected and I felt a zoo in my stomach. I still love this kid. I wonder if he enjoyed it as much as I did. It feels like it's the first time we kissed. Perfect.

We pulled apart and Megan was looking at Hayes with hurt in her eyes. She's probably upset because we didn't pull away when he could've. We kissed for at least 10 seconds.

Hayes looked at me with an apologetic look in his eyes and went after Megan. I'm seriously curious to know how much he really likes that whore.

When Hayes was gone it was completely silent, but then of course, Nash was the one to break it.

"So, um... are we done with this game?"

"I guess so." Carly said.

"What's wrong Grace?" Jillian asked. I realized that I was just staring into space.

"Huh? Oh sorry. Nash? Does he really like Megan?" I asked Nash.

"Well, he told me he does but I could tell he was lying. He's always been a bad liar." he laughed a little. I nodded.

"Grace, we can tell he still loves you. I think he just asked Megan out to get his mind off if you or to make you jealous." Cameron explained.

"But we never even broke up." I said.

Everyone had a sorry look in their eyes. Hayes came back, sat next to me and sighed. I didn't look at him.

"Grace, can I please talk to you?" he asked me.

"Fine. Talk."

"Uh, in private?" he pleaded.

"Okay." I said quietly and he led me to the sand dunes. We sat next to each other and he looked at me. I finally looked up at him and he started talking.

"Grace, I'm sorry. I know dating Megan was wrong and I-"

I cut him off. "Hayes why did you even ask her out?" He sighed.

"Because, I was just mad about Michael and I... wanted to... make you uh... jealous." he slowly said. He looked ashamed.

"Hayes. I still, love you." I said in almost a whisper.

"I love you too. And I don't know why I did what I did. I broke up with her.' he explained.

"If you can do something like that to me, then...."

"No Grace please." he begged.

"We need to break up Hayes." I said with a tear falling. He started tearing up and said,

"What can I do to change your mind?" He asked.

"Goodbye Hayes." I whispered and walked away crying.

*HAYES POV*

I cannot believe what I just heard. I can't loose Grace. I have to get her back.

I walked back to where everyone was sitting. Grace was there just staring into space with year stained cheeks.

"Hey guys want to go in the water?" Jillian asked everyone. Everyone replied with yes's and we went. Grace went but stayed with Carly the whole time. I decided to stay out of the water because I don't feel like doing anything.

They were all dodging waves and having fun. But I still didn't feel like being around Grace. It would only make me more upset. The wind was picking up and the waves started to get choppier.

A few minutes later they started jumping waves. Please be careful. I thought.

*GRACE POV*

We started to jump over waves in the water. I noticed that the undertow was getting really strong. The waves were getting stronger but I stayed in.

All of a sudden a huge wave came.

"GRACE WATCH OUT!" I heard Nash scream. I looked and it crashed on top of me it immediately took me under.

I tried to come up but it pushed me under again.

"GRACE! NO!" I heard a voice scream. I think it was Hayes's. My head slammed against something and I breathed in a bunch of water. Then everything stopped.
