Chapter 42

*GRACE POV*

"Because I like you." I said. He just looked at me shocked and immediately regretted saying that.

"You do?" He asked me.

"I'm sorry I should've never said that." I sighed looking away embarrassed.

"No, no it's okay."

"No it's not."

*JOSEPH POV*

"No it's not." Grace muttered. I wonder how much, or how long she's liked me. I'm not sure if I really like her but I'm certain there are some feelings there. She's beautiful and her laugh is contagious. I love her personality and just, everything about her. After a few minutes of an awkward silence I broke it.

"So do you wanna hang out today?" I asked her. We've hung out only once and it was at my house.

"Um yeah sure.... My house I guess?" she said unsurely.

"Yeah. I'll text you after school okay?" she nodded. "Grace it's okay. And to be honest I'm kinda glad you told me that." I whispered.

*GRACE POV*

"MOM I'M HOME!!" I yelled as I walked in my house.

"Hey sweetie!" she said. She is way too perky for it being a Monday.

"Joseph is coming over is that okay?" I asked her as I opened my refrigerator.

"Yeah, so you two..."

"Just friends mom." I laughed.

"Okay that's fine." she smiled/smirked. My phone vibrated so I checked it.

Joseph😛👌: Hey coming over now is that okay?

Me: Yeah that's fine

I patiently waited while scrolling through my social medias when I heard the doorbell. I walked up to the door and swiftly opened it.

"Hey." Joseph smiled. He looked cold.. well duh it's January. (I just realized I skipped Christmas but oh well)

"Hey! Here come in." I said opening the door wider.

"Thanks." he mumbled.

"Want something to eat?" I asked him as we walked in the kitchen.

"Nah, I'm good."

"Hello, Joseph right?" My mom asked from the living room.

"Yeah, it's nice to meet you." he smiled sticking his hand out for her to shake. They shook hands and she smiled brightly at him. She left the room and Jillian came down the stairs.

"Hey Grace your laptop is beeping. I think someone's trying to skype you." she said as she plopped on the couch.

"Okay thanks, c'mon Joseph." I ran up the stairs with Joseph following behind me. When I got to my room Joseph slowly walked in looking around at everything.

I opened my laptop to see that Hayes was calling me. Shit.

"Hey um my friend is calling me can I answer real quick?" I asked Joseph who was studying the posters and everything oh my walls.

"Yeah sure." he nodded. I accepted the call and Hayes' face popped up.

"Hey Hayes." I smiled. I saw Joseph's eyes dart to the screen out of the corner of my eye when I said his name.

"Hey what's up?" he asked. Right as I was about to say something Joseph spoke up.

"Grace where's your bathroom?"
