*GRACE POV*

"MOM CAN YOU MAKE ME SOME

PANCAKES?!" I yelled through the house as I frantically searched for my shoes.

It's the last day if school before Thanksgiving break and I can't find my boots. I searched through my closet and finally found my black bailey bow UGGS.

I ran down the stairs and quickly ate my pancakes. Here we go again.... Hayes.

Pancakes remind me of Hayes because he loves them so much. Everything reminds me of Hayes lately. At first after we got back here from visiting, we used to text, call, FaceTime all the time.

We knew everything that was going on in each other's lives and I liked it that way. It felt like in a way we were still around each other like we used to be.

But, after about 4 weeks we just didn't talk as much. It went from facetiming everyday to, texting a few times a week and Facetiming maybe twice a week.

Now it's barely anything. The last time we texted was a week ago and the last time we called or FaceTimed was a month ago. We are fading and this is exactly what I was afraid of.

Other than that, I'm pretty happy here. School is going great and I've made a lot of new friends. But, Jillian has been acting very strange. It started when we came back from visiting. First she was so upset, and it turned to depression after a few days. She barely talked, and she would skip school and just stay in bed all day. After a few weeks of that she became a little better but she wasn't acting like herself. Then she seemed happy, but it wasn't real happiness and she was acting like a completely different person. She told me it's because of Cameron...

They were truly in love with each other and it really hurt her to be away from him. I think she is trying to hide her pain by acting like a the happy person that she's not, but it's not fooling anyone.

I was drowned in my thoughts until I realized I had five minutes to get to the bus stop.

I ran upstairs and brushed my teeth and then grabbed my backpack. I ran out the front door and met my friends Zack, Amanda and Cole at the bus stop. I've gotten really close with them.

"Off to school." Amanda sighed as the bus came.

"7 hours in a living hell." I muttered, getting a laugh from Zack and Cole.

Lunch was finally here and we rushed to the cafeteria. I sat in my usual spot, with Zack, Amanda, Cole, Skyler, Ben and a few other friends I made.

My phone buzzed in my pocket and it said I had a text from Hayes...

I quickly opened it but for some reason I was nervous.

H- Hey Grace, we haven't talked to each other for a while... I miss you.

G- Hey Hayes I miss you too💜

H- How's school going?

G- Pretty good I've made a lot of new friends and I think I'm finally happy here

H- I'm glad to here that!

G- Hey I gotta go my lunch is almost over

H- yeah sure, talk to you later❤️

My nose was in my phone for a few minutes texting him and I hadn't realized that I was staring at the screen.

"Who are you texting?" Skyler asked smirking.

"Huh? oh, Hayes." I answered.

"Who's Hayes?" Ben asked.

"My uh, boyfriend back home..." I said looking down.
