Chapter 24

~continued from last chapter~

*NASH POV*

I cannot believe what I just heard. My best friend did that to me. Ugh I hate this. I thought she loved me but I guess I was wrong.

I just stood there not knowing what to do. I decided to talk to Carly. I hope I'll be able to control myself and not blow up on her.

I walked up the stairs quietly so I would be able to hear if they were talking about me. I slowly walked past her closed door and heard,

"It's positive." it was Carly's voice.

"Are you sure?" I heard Grace say.

"Yes I'm sure." she started crying. Is she talking about a pregnancy test? God I hope not.

"What are you going to do? You're fucking prego with Taylor's baby!" Jillian said. My whole world just stopped. Taylor got her pregnant? I'll kill him.

*HAYES POV*

I tried to calm Nash down but it wasn't working. I feel so bad for him. I just can't believe Carly would do that. Jillian and Carly cheated. What if Grace does it too? No Hayes don't think like that. But I can't get it out of my mind.

I went up to Carly's room where Grace was and Nash was by the door.

"Dude." I whispered. He turned around and he had tears running down his face. I gave him a sympathetic look and he walked away and slammed his door.

I knocked on the door and Grace opened it and smiled. I smiled back and kissed her.

"What's up?" she asked.

"Uh, I just came up here to see what's goin' on. And uh, Nash kinda overheard."

"He was listening to us? Why would he eavesdrop on us?" Carly asked getting upset.

"Well I can't blame him I mean he deserves to know what's going on!" I explained. Carly nodded and looked down at her stomach.

"Grace can I talk to you?" I asked her.

"Yeah sure, let's go in my room." She said and I nodded. We walked down the hallway passing Nash's door, into her room.

I sat on the bed and she sat next to me crisscross applesauce with her hands in her lap.

"What's up?" she asked me.

"So, why would Carly and Taylor.. you know."

"I have no idea, it was so stupid, but she said they have a 'special bond'" Grace said air quoting 'special bond' with her fingers.

"And Jillian cheated also. What's up with your sisters?" I laughed a little. She laughed with me and said,

"I don't know but they better get their act together."

"..... you would never do something like that would you?" I asked, hoping she wouldn't take it the wrong way. I mean I'm not trying to offend her family but it could happen.

"What do you mean?" she asked worried.

"Well, don't take this personal. I mean, you're sisters cheated, there's possibly a chance that if they did, you cou-"

She cut me off. Great she's mad.

"You think just because my sisters screwed up, that automatically means I will because we're related?!" she asked annoyed.

"No, no I didn't mean it like that."

"Then what did you mean?" she said crossing her arms.

"I mean, uh.. well they did and maybe seeing how they did that would make you react that way?" I said in more of a question.

"Oh my god I can't believe you think that of me." she said standing up.

"I don't think of you like that I'm just saying."

"Saying what?! I would never do anything to hurt you! I thought you knew that." she said raising her voice.

"Grace, I'm sorry I ju-"

"Just what?..... I gotta go." she said walking out the door.

I put my head in my hands. Dammit Hayes why do you have to mess everything up. I should've known she wouldn't do anything like that.

*GRACE POV*

I cannot believe what Hayes just said to me. Maybe I'm overreacting, but it made me really mad and upset that he thinks I could do that to him. I would never. I love him too much.

I went downstairs after storming out of my room to get a snack. I was looking in the refrigerator and grabbed a bag of grapes. When I closed the door Carly was standing there.

I gasped. "You scared me." I said.

"Why did you say that?" she asked in a mad tone.

"I-I'm sorry I had no intention of saying it but I just got mad at what you were saying and it slipped out." I explained. She rolled her eyes.

"I forgive you, but I'm still upset." she said. I nodded and hugged her.

"So I heard you and Hayes arguing. What was that about?" she asked. I sighed and figured I should just tell her the truth.

"Uh, he's worried that I might cheat on him." I said looking down.

"Why because of us?" Carly asked concerned. I nodded and looked away.

"I'm sorry do you want me to talk to him?"

"No. It's fine I'm just, Kind of angry at him." I told her.

"Okay well I'm going to go see if Nash will ever speak to me again." she sighed and walked slowly up the stairs.

"Wait Carly?" I called before she was all the way up the staircase.

"Yeah?" She came back down the stairs.

"So uh, what are you going to do about the baby?" I asked curious about her decision, if she had even made one.

"I don't know. I don't want an abortion, I don't want to give it up for adoption, but I don't know if I want to keep it either." she said.

"Well that narrows it down." I joked. She laughed a little and went back up the stairs.

I plopped down on the couch and thought about everything that's going on, and then I remembered. Hayes and I are in a fight. Well, I think it's a fight. I'm just mad that he would think that but I feel like I should go talk to him.

I ate more grapes and turned on the tv. I'll give it some time and talk to him later. Just then he came down the stairs with Nash.

"Grace we're leaving." Hayes called. Nash was already out the door and Hayes walked in the room.

"Okay I'll see you later?"

"Yeah." he nodded and looked at me, as if he wanted to say something, but he didn't. He just kissed my cheek and left.

Why is life so complicated.
