Chapter 27

~one month later~

*GRACE POV*

So Taylor is doing fine, and is completely recovered. I don't know how, and even the doctors are surprised it turned out fine. Hayes and I are great and Jillian and Cameron are still confusing me. I don't know if they are together or not. One day I walk in on them making out on a bed and the next they are arguing or ignoring each other. It's so weird tbh.

On the other hand, Nash and Carly have decided to be apart for a while, but are still friends. And Carly is still pregnant with Taylor's baby...

Right now I was laying on my bed staring at the ceiling listening to music.

I'm so fancy, You already knowww.

I'm in the fast lane, from LA to Tokyo.

That song made me feel fancy. I wonder why. I pulled my ear buds out of my ears when my phone buzzed.

Babe❤️😍🔐: Hey babe what are you doing tonight?

I replied with a smile on my face. He makes me so happy.

Me: Nothin why?

Babe❤️😍🔐: I was thinking I would take you on a date

Me: Hayes I would love that💕

Babe❤️😍🔐: Great I'll see you at 8❤️

I set my phone on my cluttered nightstand and hopped out of my comfy bed. Chills went up my spine because the blankets were so warm. I checked the time and it said 6:58pm. I decided to get in the shower and start getting ready for my date.

When I got out of the shower I opened my closet to look for something to wear. Casual or nice? Eh, casual.

I decided on teal high waisted shorts with a white short sleeve loose crop top. To go with that, I chose yellow flip flops, a gold key necklace and gold bangles bracelets.

I dried my hair and then straightened it. Next was makeup. I stuck with the usual but with some neutral eyeshadow.

I grabbed my phone to check the time. It was 7:49.

I had ten minutes so I just laid on my bed and checked Instagram, and Twitter. Nothin special but some new followers. I've gotten a lot because of Hayes.

At 7:58 Hayes texted me saying...

"Meet me outside beautiful."

I smiled and replied with okay and a blushy emoji.

"Mom I'm going out with Hayes!" I yelled at my mom who was in in the kitchen as I walked out.

"Okay have fun." she called back.

When I walked out of my front door the warm, humid air hit my face and a slight breeze blew my hair.

I was greeted by Hayes with flowers in his hands. He walked up to me and handed me them.

"For you." he smiled. I blushed and smiled.

"Thank you Hayes." I said still smiling. "They're beautiful."

"Just like you." he said as he grabbed my hand and smiled looking at the window of my house.

I turned around and my mom was there watching. I smiled and rolled my eyes at her.

"So where are you taking me?" I asked as we walked down the street.

"It's a surprise." he smiled and kissed my cheek.

We walked down the street until there was a grass hill by a pond. The sun was setting and it reflected off the water.

"Hayes it's beautiful." I said.

He led me to an open area with a blanket set out with a basket, and lights. I smiled from ear to ear and he also smiled when he saw me.

We sat down looking at the pond. Watching the ripples in the water.

"Grace I brought you here to let you know how much I truly care about you. And I love you." Hayes told me while grabbing my hand.

"I love you too Hayes. And thank you. It's perfect." I smiled and kissed his cheek.

"I have food!" he smiled. YESS FOOD! Food is life incase you didn't know. My eyes lit up and he laughed, as he pulled out a box of pizza, some watermelon, and strawberry lemonade. My favorite.

"Yay!" I giggled. We both dug in and ate as much as we could. Once we were done stuffing our faces, he stood up and took me to the edge of the water where it calmly came up on the little pebbles scattered on the ground.

We sat down and I rested my head on his shoulder, and his head leaned on my head. This moment could not have been more perfect. It was silent. Not awkward silent though. Good, comforting silent.

Soon we laid down and looked at the sky which was becoming slightly darker.

*HAYES POV*

Grace and I were looking up at the sky when she turned her head and looked at me.

"Hayes?" she asked sweetly.

"Yes?" I smiled looking at her.

"Do you think we will last?" she asked. That kinda took me by surprise a little bit.

"Yeah I really do." I said. She smiled and sat up. I followed her actions and we just sat there staring at each other. Why is she so beautiful?? I mean, she's literally perfect.

"Do you want to go soon?" I asked her. I didn't realize that we have been by the water for an hour. She nodded and we walked back to our stuff.

*GRACE POV*

I was helping Hayes fold the blanket. Once we finished I set it on the ground and reached for the pizza box to put back in the basket.

When I came back up from bending down and pair of arms wrapped around my waist. I smiled and he kissed my cheek and I turned around. He grabbed my waist again and pulled me closer and kissed me. There were no people around so I didn't mind.

I rested my arms around his neck. After about a minute we pulled apart and we both blushed.

After picking up our things we started heading home.

"Thanks for this Hayes." I said as we approached my driveway.

"Anytime Grace." he smiled and kissed me once again after we reached my front porch. The kiss got just a tiny bit heated when my dad opened the door.

"Hello Hayes." he said in a 'I'm watching you' tone.

We quickly pulled apart and I felt my face heat up, but Hayes's face was like a freaking tomato.

"Uh, goodnight Grace. Goodnight sir." he said as he left and started back to his house.

"Dad." I said in an embarrassed/annoyed way.

"Excuse me for looking out for my daughter and I don't want you two kissing like that." he said as we both walked inside. I rolled my eyes and went upstairs.

Ugh dads.
