Caitlin's POV.

I wasn't expecting to be dragged out of my house, forced into my brothers car and then dragged onto the London Eye with the rest of One Direction.

That, I definitely wasn't expecting.

Louis said it would be a chance for me to 'get to know them' and to 'socialise with people'. I thought it was ludicrous. I don't know why he's so obsessed with me having friends. If i don't think i need friends, then why does he?

Because you do? my subconscious rolled her eyes.

I sat on the bench in the middle as the cubicle we'd been given on the  London Eye slowly turned.

"Don't like heights?"

I almost jumped by the person sitting next to me, i wasn't expecting anyone to talk to me today.

I looked up from my book. "No, it doesn't bother me. I'm just not bothered much about being here."

Harry nodded looking at the others who were taking photos and pointing at different landmarks.

"You wouldn't think they'd lived in London for so long would you?" He laughed nodding towards the boys.

I smiled. Unsure of how to answer i turned back to my book.

"What are you reading?" He asked turning my hand to see the cover. "Alice in Wonderland?" He raised his eyebrows.

"It-It's not like the kiddy version. It's a darker version, more disturbing and thought provoking." I explained. "It's very twisted."

Harry looked impressed. "You're not in wonderland anymore, Alice." He nudged me.

I smiled at his playfulness. "She surely isn't." I mumbled referring to Alice and myself. My wonderland was my 1 bedroom flat i had at uni. I could do my work, read and be alone. And now i've been brought to London, far from anywhere, surrounded by all of these cheshire cats.

"So, what made you read it?"

I wasn't quite sure why Harry still wanted to talk to me, I thought he'd of gotten bored of me already, but for some reason he seemed comfortable sitting next to me and talking.

"My friend in my english lecture suggested it. I thought at first it would be a child's book, but it's far from it."

Harry nodded. "I like to read, sometimes."

It was my turn to raise my eyebrow. I looked up from my book and looked at his side profile, the slight moustache forming on his upper lip, the scarf tightly knotted on his head.

"You do? What sort of books are you into?"

He shrugs. "It depends. I like to read romance when i'm writing for the album, give me ideas. I did that on the last album.. That's what i based Happily on.. A book."

I nodded, interested in Harry's character. I could write about him someday in my own book.

"But i like to mostly write journals. Express myself, my feelings. Then once i start writing songs i can look at my journal and write about the feelings on the page."

"That's really cool." I smile genuinely. "I didn't know you did that."

He shrugged looking at me, i couldn't give him eye contact longer than 4 seconds. I felt too self-conscious.

"People always say we're 'manufactured' and just have writers in and we just sing songs we're given and have no input into anything. But it's nothing like that." He shakes his head. "It really isn't."

"I know." I smile reassuringly. "I remember skyping Louis sometimes and he'd be so tired from writing, or so annoyed because of certain decisions. I understand you're under a lot of scrutiny, but i also understand that you're not some pop band who use stupid amounts of autotune."

Harry smiles, a dimple peeking through. "Thanks Cait, I think that's the longest conversation we've ever had."

I laugh. "It probably is."

"Listen, i'm going to the London Library in a couple days, fancy coming? I can show you where it is and around it so you can go on your own."

I swallow. "Sure. That would be cool. Just come by Louis' and pick me up when you go."

He nods as he stands to walk over to the boys. "Will do, Cait."

I smile as i return back to reading my book. I've agreed to go out with someone other than a family member, to a public place.

Well done to me.
