Three

        News caught up all around the school, but surprisingly I wasn't called in the office -maybe not yet. I sighed and finally the lunch bell rang, people said goodbye to me, and all I could do was awkwardly wave back. I was getting out of the classroom when my teacher mumbles something.

"I'm sorry what?"

"I said good job Valentine."

"What are you -"

"That little slut deserved it"

"Oh, uh, you're welcome Mr. Garrison!"

        Wow, such highlight; a teacher complimenting a student about kicking another. I enter the cafeteria and received some smiles and glances. A lot were approving and then there it was - the little smug look that I've been looking for. I pass by Shannon's table, but she looks away. I notice that I left some ugly looking bruise on her.

"Hey there she is!" Lance greets.

"What?" I ask.

"Don't act dumb, we heard what happened."

"Oh that, yeah..."

"Kat!" I turn and there's Carly, Melanie, and Topanga making their way to our table.

"Hey girls!" I greet and introduced them to the guys.

        Topanga and Lance seem to like each other; same went for Melanie and Chris, and then Carly and Jordan. This left Kellin - aww, poor baby Kellin. He never minded really, he was like the father of the group.

"So, tell me about that Shannon girl."

"She's a bitch for starters" Lance began.

"She backstabs people, manipulates them, and uses them for her gain" Melanie adds on.

"She thinks she's the Queen" Topanga says, rolling her eyes.

"So basically, she's a manipulative bitch?" I ask.

"Yeah, that sums her up." Jordan laughed.

"She made us all suffer in freshman year." Melanie states.

"How so?" I ask.

"Since she was a sophomore, people already knew her, and as for us freshmen girls we thought she was the greatest thing ever until she embarrassed Leann Michaels."

"What'd she do?"

"She became friends with her, got to know all her secrets, and then boom revealed them all - since then she's been bossing us around and we just hate her guts okay." Carly adds on.

"Damn, I knew she was shady from the start."

"Hey Kat mom just called" Kellin says

"And?

"She's got a new job!" he exclaims.

"Ah, perfect, we have to celebrate later on. Hey you guys should come too!"

"I'm in if you're in" Jordan tells Carly. She nods excitedly. "Oh yeah, we're going"

"This is to mom and her new teaching job!" Kellin exclaims and we all clinked drinks.

        Dave kisses mom, I swear I never got used to that. I just make a face which Kellin laughed at and stood by me.

In a flash I started feeling dizzy, I grab hold of Kellin's shoulder for support, "You okay?" he asks, and I nod.

What the hell was that? After fully getting a grip of myself, I joined everyone else.

"So mom, when are you going to be starting?" I ask.

"They told me I can start once I'm ready, Monday should be a great time."

"Oh speaking of Monday, Mrs. Valentine, can Kat go shopping with us?"

"I don't see why not"

"But mom I have no money."

"Don't worry about it" Dave says, and I give him the wide eyed stare while slightly shaking my head. He mouths back "I got your back"

        I gave up eventually, but I will owe him later on. "So Katherine, tell us about Shadow Ridge, how's it going?"

"She kicked Shannon Benson!" Chris laughs and I face palmed, literally.

"YOU DID WHAT?!" My mom bellows.

"Mom, she pissed me off okay and she was talking crap about you and Kellin, I just couldn't handle it."

"I know words can hurt Katherine, but you have to control yourself, we don't want things to repeat again..." she trails off, Dave gives me a repentant look, but I just stared off.

"I know mom..."

"Uhm, if you don't mind us asking, what are you talking about?" Topanga asks.

"Can I?" My mom inquires and I nod.

"It was her sophomore year; things were going fine as usual. I was working in the school they went to -" She looks at me and Kellin.

"I was stationed at the front desk, so I every kid that walked in passed by me. One afternoon, they brought her in for breaking someone's leg. And no it wasn't by accident, I mean literally broke his leg. What was his name again?"

"Jacob Armstrong." I chuckled.

"Yeah him, if I remember correctly he was maligning our family and you lost it." I nod.

"But I didn't mean to do it mom, I just hate it when someone talks crap about our family or my friends..."

"She went to Anger Management, right after but she failed." Kellin laughed.

"Oh yeah I remember that, she flipped off that teacher and walked out the door!" Lance adds in, he was in that class too.

"I don't know what to do with these kids anymore..." my mom sighs and gave us a trivial smile.

I turn to Carly and the others. "So, still think I'm cool?"

"Even though this scared us a lot, despite the fact that you're not afraid to cause physical damage, my opinion doesn't change. Deep inside, I know you won't hurt me or better yet us." Carly smiles.

"Hey, I don't care, I'd flip out too." Melanie says and hugs me.

"I'm terrified, but you stood up for us already, and you're probably the coolest chick I know." Topanga says and hugs me too.

"You girls are the best!" I replied and enfolded them in this little group hug.

"Oh we know, say, how do you feel about dresses?"
