Well, it's been FOREVER since I've updated, but long story short, my internet got cut haha.

Here is the final chapter :)

......or maybe not.

Pain has been a constant companion since the beginning. It’s there when we were born, when our hearts break, and when we die – actually it depends on how you die. Right now, the pain’s gone and has been replaced with repose.

Last night I got this dream where Kellin was asleep and I was just sitting on the couch arm smiling at him. Kellin looked adorable as always, with the little drool and his messy hair. His hair – he grew it out and never even bothered to cut it. It suits him actually.

I couldn’t get to the end of the dream, sadly. But before I drifted to arousal, I heard this annoying beeping noise and a ton of voices.

“Kat, are you awake?”

“Mhmm”

“It’s mom sweetie”

Oh I’m still alive. I feel cold air on my skin, the soreness in my throat, and my chapped lips. Everything seems to be so overblown since I’ve gone deeper into CML. I open my eyes and there was mom with tears in hers.

“Mom, why are you crying?” Great, my voice sounds like shit.

“You wouldn’t wake up…”

“What?” I notice that we weren’t in the same room anymore.

“You died for two hours Kat” Kellin explains, looking down.

“Oh”

“I thought we lost you Katherine” Mom replies.

Her eyes, her beautiful blue eyes, now so filled with sadness. It broke my heart to see her that way. “Oh mom” I lift my arms up to hug her, but it hurt… a lot. I grimaced and drew them back. Mom seemed startled by this and got to my side right away. She embraces me instead.

“Mom, it hurts so much” I hid my face on her shoulder.

She didn’t reply, but patted my head instead. This reminds me of the time we just moved here to Vegas. I cried like a baby because I didn’t want to leave my old house in Phoenix and the playground I always hung out in.

I open my eyes; Kellin was next to us now. The same grief and sorrow in his face. He was holding my hand and that alone gave the strength I needed at the moment.

“Do the others know?” I ask.

“Yeah, but finals hit Shadow Ridge so they couldn’t make it. Uhm, Dave got a bunch of paper work at the station, but he’s coming later on along with everyone else. And dad’s making his way back –“

“Dad left?”

“He went back to Phoenix last week, but he’s coming back tonight.”

Mom’s phone rings and she excuses herself, but not a minute’s passed and the door burst open.

“Kat, oh my god we heard about what happened” Carly embraces me, followed by Topanga and finally Melanie.

“I know, can’t believe it myself” I chuckled.

“How are you feeling?” Mark asks, kissing my cheek.

“Ooh someone’s getting physical” Chris joked and we laughed.
