BROOKLYN'S POV

Things haven't been the same since Loki visited. Steve is always by my side, never leaving me out of his sight. And someone is always put up to watch outside of our bedroom at night to watch. Normally everyone would take a three hour watch, then trade off with someone else since there were six of us.

Banner couldn't stay up much because if he didn't get his sleep then he'd get moody and nobody wants to see Hulk at two a.m. in the morning.

Steve hardly slept good. He spent most of his night making sure I was okay since I couldn't sleep and making sure he wasn't hurting me, though he never has.

I kept telling everyone to stop worrying about me and get a life but none would listen.

Banner would come in and check on me every day.

I was currently laying in my bed, with a bottle of water at hand as I looked down at my belly.

"Brooke?" Banner walked in. Steve's eyes slowly left me, looking over to him. "I have the results back. It's going to be a girl."

"A girl." I repeated, my heart fluttering.

"How much longer do we have?" Steve asked quietly.

"Maybe a month or two." Banner patted Steve's shoulder before he left.

"Its going to be a girl, Steven." I put my hand on his shoulder, excitement filled my eyes and my voice.

"Yeah." He nodded with a faint smile.

"I was thinking for a name, I like the name Lacey."

"Lacey Margaret Rogers. I like that." Steve brushed a strand of my hair behind my ear.

"I'll make it through this, Steven. Don't worry about it."

"How can I not worry about it, Brooklyn? You've lost ten pounds, you barely eat, and the baby is bigger than what you can take. I just don't want to loose you, Brooke." Steve held my hand in his tightly.

"You won't, Steven. I have you, James, Samuel, and Lacey to look forward to." I took my other hand and placed it on his cheek. I felt the baby suddenly kicked my belly harshly. I gasped a put my hand on my belly. I felt something wet between my legs. "Oh god, Steven. My water just broke."

"What! No! Banner said a month or two!" Steve jumped to his feet.

"To hell with a month or two, Steven! The damn baby is coming now!"

"What the hall do I do!"

"Tell Banner!"

"Okay!" Steve ran out of the room. I stood up, but leaned against the stand beside the bed.

"Come on, Brooke." Banner put an arm around me and helped me out of the room.

One if the rooms in the Stark Tower had been transformed into where I'd be having the baby. Banner had everything he needed in there, or so he said.

THIRD PERSON

Steve held on to Brooklyn's hand tightly as she pushed.

"One more time, Brooke." He murmured, kissing her temple. "I love you, Brooke."

Outside of the room, Natasha, Sam, Bucky, and the others waited nervously. Brooklyn's cries of pain could be heard from upstairs, where Tony was.

"Banner? What's wrong?" Steve asked after the baby had been pushed out of the now unconscious Brooke.

"The baby isn't break breathing." Banner said.

"Brooke's not either." Steve noticed Brooke's chest wasn't moving at all. "Come on, Brooke." Steve started doing CPR on Brooke as Banner started working on the baby. "Brooklyn! I'm not letting you leave me!" Steve yelled, feeling her weak ribs break beneath his weight.

"She's gone, Cap." Banner whispered, the in breathing baby lay in his arms. Steve stopped for a moment, looking at the baby, before he began to push on Brooklyn's chest. He punched her nose and blew a deep breath into her mouth.

It took three of those powerful blows but he finally managed to make her breath again.

"I lost one, didn't I?" Steve whispered, looking from his love, to his daughter.

"There's no bringing her back, Captain." Banner nodded, his own eyes were watering.

"Oh." Steve nodded, his eyes falling back to Brooklyn, who took slow, steady breaths. He was glad he got to keep Brooklyn, but he knew she'd be devastated when she found out their daughter had died.

"Take her back up to the bedroom." Banner handed a sheet to Steve.

He wrapped Brooklyn up in the blanket. He carried her bridal style out of the medical room.

"How's the baby?" Natasha knew something was wrong because she hadn't heard the screams and cries of the baby. Steve ignored her and went up to his bedroom.

After laying Brooklyn down on the bed, he brushed a strand of her hair out of her eyes.

All of his thoughts of ever having a child with Brooklyn had dropped. He wanted one desperately. But he couldn't risk loosing Brooklyn again.
