I rushed to the bathroom as quickly as I could, making it just in time to throw up in the toilet. My knees gave out and I gave up. I sat on my knees on the floor, closing the lid and flushing the toilet. I put my head on the toilet seat lid, feeling exhausted, though I had just slept for well over eleven hours.

"Brooke?" Steve was standing in the bathroom when I opened my eyes. "Baby? Are you okay?"

"Yes. I'm just resting my eyes a bit." I mumbled, closing my eyes again.

"In the bathroom?"

"Mmhmm."

"Come on, honey." Steve managed to coax me to my feet and help me back to bed. It was almost noon and I felt terrible. There was a knock on the door. "Come in." Steve looked over his shoulder to who was entering our room. It was Bruce.

"Hello, Doctor Banner. How-" I cut off, coughing horribly. I put a hand over my chest and laid back, forgetting about greeting Bruce.

"Brooke. We need to talk about the baby in you." Bruce sat on the edge of the bed, by my feet.

"What do you mean?" I asked, holding Steve's hand tighter, who stood beside me.

"Remember how I said it was sucking everything from your body?" He asked.

"Yes. And I've been eating enough for both of us, Banner." I nodded.

"That doesn't seem to be helping the child. Its size is large for only being four months old. The average baby isn't nearly as big as this one."

"And that's because of me, isn't it?" Steve asked, his voice was a whisper.

"It's because of the serum in you. It enhanced the child's growth, boosting it practically. That's why it's been moving so much lately." Banner nodded, his brown eyes shifting from mine to Steve's every so often.

"And I'm too small for it. There's not enough space for her." I put my hand on my belly, rubbing gentle circles around my belly.

"Her?" Steve repeated.

"I have a feeling its a girl." I nodded with a smile.

"We should be able to tell within a few days with the growth rate of it." Banner nodded. "But Brooklyn. There's a high possibility that you won't survive giving birth to a baby that could very well be the size of a two year old when the time comes to deliver. The human body can only stand forty seven dels of pain but at the time a mother gives birth, the body of the mother stands to fifty two plus dels of pain. Too much pain can cause damage to many things, your heart, your lungs, your brain, other feminine parts." Bruce cleared his throat.

"So I won't live to see the baby?" I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.

"More than likely. I'm so sorry, Brooke." Bruce rubbed my calf softly. "I'll give you two time alone." He whispered before leaving.

THIRD PERSON

After the door closed signaling Banner had left, Steve sat down beside Brooke, hugging her tightly. Tears were forming in his big, blue eyes.

"Brooklyn, I'm so sorry. I never meant for this to happen. I love you so much."

"Its alright, Steven. Please." Brooke gently pushed him off of her and stood up without his help. "I'm- I'll be fine." Brooke shook her head.

"Didn't you just hear what Banner said?"

Brooke ignored Steve's question and went to the windows covering one side of the room walls. She looked out over the city, her eyes filled with terror, remorse, sadness, many different emotions. But she couldn't cry for some reason.
