"Serah I'm home!" I poke my head up from the couch rubbing my eyes. "Good I'm hungry." He huffs. "Serah your 17 for crying out loud." I get up following him to the kitchen. "Well someone won't let me leave the house." He huffs turning to me. "You know why Serah." I huff. "Maybe they won't recognize me." He laughs. "You know they will." I frown softly. "Don't frown kiddo cause I've got good news." I smile. "I can leave." He shakes his head. "We both can." I raise an eyebrow.
"We are moving Serah." I smile. "Really?!" He nods. "Say goodbye to Seattle and hello to Georgia." I huff. "Of all places." He scuffs. "Someone is a little ungrateful." I smile. "I'll go anywhere as long as I don't have to stay cooped up in the house." He smile throwing a pizza into the oven. "Well get packing we leave in a week." I hug him from behind pressing my check onto his back. "Thank you Dylan." He turns pulling me into his embrace. "I told you. We are in this together." I nod before pulling back. "I'll tell you when the pizza is done." I nod heading back to take my seat on the couch.

One Week Later
"Serah come on!" I run down the stairs as fast as I can. "Sorry, I left some make up behind." He rolls his eyes from the door way. "You shouldn't be wearing that stuff anyways." I mockingly roll my eyes as well. "Yeah yeah. Come on that car isn't gonna drive itself." He huffs and I take one more look at the house before giving a small frown. "Hey now!" I look at him over the car. "Smile Serah. We're out of this crappy old city. We get to start over." I smile. "Yeah but I'll miss the memories." He taps the top of the car.
"We'll make more. Now come on before the neighbors start to throw rocks." I laugh before climbing into his pickup truck. He turned the key and the first thing I hear makes me frown. "It's been almost six years Seattle since the devastating massacre..." I look up at Dylan as he turns the radio off. "Maybe we can just sit in silence for a bit." I huff. "You think they know about us in Georgia, Dylan." He huffs tussling my hair. "Let's hope not kiddo." I lean my head back sighing before shutting my eyes.
"What am I supposed to do?" He whispers. "What do you mean?" I peek around the corner of my door seeing Dylan and our Aunt talking. He runs his fingers through his hair. "Mom and dad they...how am I gonna tell her?" My Aunt touches his arm. "Honey you'll find away. What your parents did was horrific. They had problems, Dylan." He starts to cry and I frown.
"Why'd they have to kill all those people Aunt Sasha?" He starts to sob and I run out of my hiding place to wrap my arms around his leg. "Dylan it's okay, don't cry." I remember him tussling my hair and smiling. "I'm okay kiddo, promise." He wipes his eyes. "What do you say we go out for ice cream?" I smile clinging to his leg.
"With that make you happy Dylan?" He smiles. "Yes it will." I nod softly and he takes my hand pulling me from him as we head out of the house. People gave us weird looks so I tugged on his hand. "Dylan why is everyone staring?" He fakes a smile. "I hadn't noticed. Maybe it's just your imagination." I take another glance around noticing that it's not in my head before clinging to Dylan.
He puts his arm over my shoulder. "You guys don't belong here." Someone whispers. I look up at Dylan who's jaw is locked as he keeps his head down. "Dylan...." He hums looking down at me when I stop. My lip quivers as the tears swell in my eyes. "I want mommy." His jaw locks. "I told you Serah, mom and dad are gone right now." My lip quivers more. "Serah don't..." I sob. "Why is she gone, Dylan? Why didn't she take me with her?" He huffs squatting to my level.
"She couldn't, Serah. She's not exactly in a good place right now." I hug him. "It's not fair." He huffs. "It's not fair to a lot of people but you'll understand one day. Come on Serah, let's go get that ice cream." I cling to him and he has to carry me. "Promise you'll tell me one day Dylan." He nods. "Yeah somehow." He whispers and I lay my head on his shoulder.
"Serah!" I shoot up in my seat looking at him. He laughs some and I huff flipping backwards. "You scared the crap out of me." He laughs some. I slap his arm. "You were dreaming about it again, Serah." I turn my head looking out of the window. "What makes you think that?" He sighs. "You were whispering in your sleep again." I roll my eyes. "Can you not be that creepy big brother that watches me sleep?"
He huffs. "Are you okay Serah?" I scuff. "Sure I'm just fine. My parents are locked up and my big brother is towing me away to Georgia." He gives me a firm glare. "I'm doing what's best for you Serah. Since the moment mom and dad went away that's all I've been trying to do. Maybe you like living in a neighborhood where the neighbors will stone you if you step foot onto your porch for more than ten seconds but I don't. Don't go getting all pissy with me because I'm trying to get us away from that life."
I stay quiet for a minute or two. "Where are we, I'm hungry." He huffs. "You've been asleep for a while, we are almost a quarter of the way there now." I groan. "Wake me when it's over." I say throwing my arm over my eyes and I hear him snicker offering a small 'okay' before I doze back off.
Enjoy!
