Red Nation: Chapter 17

~Javier P.O.V.~

I just sat there shifting my gaze from Riley to the bandana that sat in my hand. In all the years of being involved in the gang, I have personally never heard of a Thug's ex starting her own gang. It may happen elsewhere, but I've never heard of that.

"Why Riley." I looked up into her eyes and patiently waited for her response.

"After you divorced me, I needed money. You always had our money problems taken care of so I never had my own money saved and set to the side. When I moved out, I needed money fast and since I saw how much you were bringing in, I started going through one cartel and eventually it turned into me running a gang." My jaw dropped.

"Riley pull out. I'm not even kidding around or anything. This is dangerous shit and if you make one wrong move, you're done. If you make a wrong move with IRG, NBG, or WTE, they will kill you. Despite the fact they personally know you." Sadly, business means business and if it involves killing friends, it happens. "I know I'd kill myself before killing you because you did something to piss off IRG."

"I can't pull out Javier. I'm getting money and it's helping me out-"

"You start out getting money, then you'll want more. You'll want more dominance because more dominance means higher status, higher status means more money. Remember who comes out on top in this game? You'll find yourself wanting to go against them to claim that title. Riley you need to stop." Has she lost her damn marbles? I know her and Nelle would joke all the time about starting a gang just to over throw IRG but to see Riley actually doing this, it's just too much. "Nelle involved too?"

"No. It's just me and a few other girls. I don't want status, I just want to make enough money to be able to let me live comfortably."

"You say that now but greed will get you. Riley I still love you so much and if I hear you were killed because of business gone wrong-" I just stopped. "I don't even want to think down that road because you're not gonna be killed. I'm getting you out whether you like it or not."

"You can't make that choice-"

"Either you pull out yourself or I'll pull you out. You got till tonight to decide, this isn't even funny." I started to feel more anger build up in me just because of how dumb Riley was being. Short on money? Why didn't she just hit me up? She knows I have no problem lending her a couple G's to get her through while she gets a normal steady job, not this game shit.

I just stood up and was about to walk out till I felt a tug on my arm.

"You can't tell anyone Javier." As if I'm about to listen to her. Shit I might just announce it to all of Oakland so they know my ex-wife decided to join the drug game. Why couldn't she have just been a stripper? I'd rather her hand me some kind of stripper outfit or pimp card rather than a damn bandana.

I pulled my arm free and quickly left her house and made my way over to Lexis' crib.

"Lexis? Where you at man?" I asked as I walked inside his house.

"What's up?" He asked as he came walking from the kitchen and dapped me. "You straight? You 'ont look that good."

"Nah I got a situation." He rose an eyebrow. "I got a family member who started a new gang. How I get 'em out if they won't willingly pull out?"

"Bust the trap and kill 'em off. That's the only way I know. Who this family member? Is it Huey? If it is, I'll knock some sense into his ass." I wish it was Huey.

"Nah it ain't Huey. She asked me not to tell-"

"She? Nigga one of your sisters is in the game now?" Hell no. I'd drag her ass out of the game by her hair if one of my sisters ever joined.
