Red Nation: Chapter 28
~Nelle Bells P.O.V.~
I heard the gun shot and raced right back down the stairs. I had only gotten about half way up and I stopped.
Oh God what if he was shot.
I got to the bottom and didn't see anything?
"I need a body bag right now." I heard Lexis demand into the phone.
"Lexis?" I said as I walked up to him. I saw a woman's body on the ground and diverted my eyes from her. I don't want to see her body. The body is not there, the body is not there, the body is not there. I kept saying to myself.
"Nelle go back inside unless you wanna see a dead body." He said calmly to me.
"Forget the body, are you okay?" I stepped over her sprawled out arm and pulled him in for a hug.
"I'm fine as always. You don't ever need to worry about me." He kissed my forehead.
"What happened?"
"I answered the door and she held her gun up about to fire-"
"How'd she end up shot?"
"Nelle I keep guns everywhere possible. There's 13 guns downstairs in various places. I keep one under the entry table. Since she was a female I didn't know, I grabbed my gun. These guns are already cocked and ready to go. She raised the gun and I simply shot her before she shot me." He said with a small smile.
"You have no idea who she is?" I was not going to look down and I was trying so hard to ignore the fact there was a dead body on my porch.
"She has a black bandana in her pocket. She's one of Rico's goons, I assume."
"I don't wanna know anymore. If any of the kids get hurt, you know I will kill you." I said breaking away from his arms. I stepped over the body and made my way back to the kitchen to finish making my lunch.
~Lexis P.O.V.~
After a little while, the body was taken away and I was now at my trap.
"How many members does Rico really have?" I asked. Everyone was there and they looked at me like I was crazy.
"Why you asking? Busted that trap a month ago." Arlie said as he leaned back in his chair, unamused at the fact we're bringing up that gang again.
"Just killed another one at my door step today. Not even 40 minutes ago." I dropped the bandana on the table. "So I know there's bound to be more. I didn't know Rico had female goons too."
"How is he controlling his gang from prison?" Arlie asked.
"Hell if I know. I couldn't even get in touch with Nelle, let alone control the gang when I was locked up." There's gotta be someone he's using as a figure head to control what's going on.
"Another one of his members was at my trap and trying to shoot us up." Christian said. "I don't know about WTE-"
"Ty and August were there because of another member being present. I didn't hear the details." I said.
"I'm gonna go visit Rico and see what I can get out of him." Varo said as he stood up from the table.
"Aight, let me know what you learn." He nodded his head before leaving.
"Well-"
"Sweets no. You've said plenty today. Not another word." I said cutting her off.
"Um fuck you. I will say what I want, when I want. I was gonna say I'm leaving with him." She got up and walked out with too much sass in her walk.
