Taylor shook her head, "I don't know. He's acting very distant since I woke up."
"Maybe he's just being careful because he's here in the hospital, and it's his professional world." Jillian suggested.
"Maybe."
"You think it's something more?"
"I don't know. He's not giving me anything, but the facts. He's acting like...a doctor."
"He is a doctor, Taylor."
"I know."
"I think he's just trying to make sure you get the best possible care. You were close to death."
"Yes, that's true."
"Have you thought about asking him what's wrong?"
"I tried. He's avoiding me."
"Well," Jillian folded her arms, "I think you should ask again."
"Yeah." Taylor turned towards her sister-in-law. "What's going on at the resort?"
"I'm sure that lawyer has already told you all about it."
"He told me some things."
"I do not agree with anything Sloan has done." Jillian explained, "I told him that he was an idiot to attempt a take over. That he should help keep the business running while you were out. But he has a mind of his own. He and Olivia were insisting that one of them has to be at the head of the office. It was their time to get the company away from you."
"Where's Mom in all this?"
Jillian's eyebrows shot up, "The lawyer didn't tell you that part?"
"No, where is she?"
"She eloped with John about three weeks ago, and then proceeded to go on a two month long honeymoon. She should be back in a month or so."
Taylor was shocked, "I thought she was over that phase. She promised she wouldn't do that again."
"Yeah, well." Jillian shrugged, "You know her."
"Good God." "Taylor shook her head, "I can't believe it."
"Well," Jillian pulled a stack of construction paper out of her purse. "I have something to cheer you up. Your nieces and nephews made you get well cards."
"Awe, how are they? I miss them."
"They miss you. They ask me every day when you are coming home."
"It's been six weeks, so that means we're in May?"
"Yeah, near the end. It's the twenty-fifth. Memorial Day is Monday."
"What's today?"
"Thursday."
"I feel like I've waken in the twilight zone. The time lapse is unbelievable."
"I know, but Alex said it was necessary to put you into the coma to let your body fight the infection."
Taylor sighed, "I missed Brian's birthday."
"Yes, well." Jillian pulled out her phone. "Alex took care of that for you."
"What do you mean?"
Jillian handed over the phone, where she had pulled up a video.
"Awe, he learned to ride a bike?"
"A bike his Aunt Taylor bought him. Uncle Alex taught him to ride."
"Why didn't Sloan?" Taylor watched as her nephew climbed onto the bright blue bike and with Alex's hand on the back, he pushed the pedals and rode around the cul-de-sac.
