Taylor threw her legs over the near side of the bed, "Grab my crutches." She ordered the little girl. When Ava brought them, put them under her arms, and hobbled to the door.

"Your stepping on your leg." Ava observed.

"Grab my phone, and call your dad." Taylor reached the top of the steps, and carefully lowered herself onto the top step. The pain in her leg was severe, but she couldn't worry about that. At the bottom of the stairs, Chloe laid partially on her back. Mason rested on her chest. From the girls angle, Taylor guessed she had twisted to avoid landing on the baby.

Scooting on her bottom, Taylor reached the bottom of the steps. The crutches clattered to the floor as she scooted herself closer to Ava. She lifted Mason. After checking him, to ensure he was unharmed. She laid him on his back nearby. He continued to scream, but she knew it was from hunger, not from pain.

She leaned over the teenager. "Chloe."

"Mmm." Chloe groaned as the door burst open, and Alex rushed in.

He dropped to his knees beside his daughter. "Chloe!"

Taylor let him go through his routine of checking his daughter. She turned her attention to Mason, and picked him up. "Okay, baby. It's okay." He settled down as she lifted him to her shoulder, and rubbed his back.

"Dad." Chloe groaned, "My head hurts."

"You've got quite a lump back there." Alex commented, touching the back of her head.

"Here's your bag, daddy." Ava ran down the stairs carrying her fathers medical bag.

"Thank you, sweetie." Alex took it from her, "Go back upstairs, and stay in Taylor's room."

Ava handed Taylor her phone, and turned to lean closer to her father, "Taylor walked on her leg." She turned and ran upstairs, closing Taylor's bedroom door behind her.

"You put weight on your leg?"

"I'm fine." Taylor responded, "We need to worry about Chloe, not me."

"Taylor," Alex ran a hand through his hair, "Shit." He pulled out his phone, "Nancy, send the ambulance over to Taylor's, and prep the x-ray for two patients."

"I'm fine, Alex." Taylor insisted.

He ignored her, and looked down at his daughter. "I want you to stay still, we're going to get you over to the medical center, and take some x-rays."

"My head hurts, but nothing else." Chloe looked over at her brother, "Is he okay?"

"Not a scratch on him." Taylor reassured her. "You kept him safe."

A visible sense of relief washed over Chloe. She held onto her fathers hand, "I'm sorry, I was trying to get Mason's bottle, and my sock slipped on the step."

"It's was an accident." Alex responded, brushing her hair back from her forehead, "It's not your fault."

"I'm just glad he didn't get hurt." Chloe reached over and touched her brothers back.

A siren approached, "There's your ride." Alex stood, and went to open the door. "Here come your sisters." He said over his shoulder.

Two uniformed men entered with a gurney. Behind them Daisy, and Jillian entered. "What happened?"

"Chloe fell down the stairs." Taylor responded. She held Mason against her chest with her casted arm, and used her other to scoot herself back to give the paramedics more room.

"I've got to take Taylor to the medical center too for x-rays." Alex told Jillian, "Would you mind watching Mason and Ava?"

"Not at all." Jillian reached for Mason. "You alright?" She asked Taylor.
