"With highs of twenty four to twenty seven degrees celsius right around the country", the radio weather woman told us as we sat in the car. The air con was broken, so we had all the windows down, fanning ourselves like mad.Blake and Reece were sat in the back, with Abigail and Poppy squashed in between them (you can change the girls names if you like)
George was driving (just p r e t e n d) and I was sitting shotgun. My legs were sticking to the seat underneath me and sweat was rolling down my forehead."George how much longer?", Blake whined from the back, to be completely honest I felt the worst for Poppy and Abi, they were stuck in between two very lovable idiots plus it was boiling.
"Umm ten minutes", he answered completely focused on the road.
"Jacob and Rebecca can't come", Poppy said as her phone pinged in her hand.
Everyone exclaimed an 'aww' knowing that our favourite sibling best friends wouldn't be there."How come?", Abi asked, a frown etched onto her pretty features.
"Family problems", poppy replied vaguely, shrugging her slight tanned shoulders."We're almost there", George exclaimed, breaking the slight tension that seemed to be growing in the air.
He parked the car in a space in a giant car park, outside the shopping centre. To the left of the centre was a huge cinema and to the right was an outdoor park and picnic area with a lake.
"Where to first?", Reece asked, as everyone exited the car and stretched their tired limbs.
"Can I just say", Blake interrupted, "I'm driving home, George you drive like a granny", George glared at him, "at least I drive safe""Too safe", Blake muttered under his breath.
"Hey. No fighting", Abi intervened, the peacekeeper as always. She turned to Blake, "you can drive home if you leave George alone", Blake rolled his eyes and nodded.Abi smiled, "great, now may I suggest the mall first, as it is way too hot to be outside right now"
Everyone laughed and agreed, the mood already lightened.
••
Two hours later we left the mall.
"There is no way all these bags will fit into the car", Poppy laughed, holding up five bags. Me and Abi laughed too and all the boys rolled their eyes."Why did you buy so much?", Reece asked.
"A girl can never have too much clothes", I joked, holding up a river island bag.
"Or make up", Abi joined in, holding up an inglot bag.
"Or horror films", Poppy chimed, holding up a bag filled with horror films, this caught the boys attention."What films did you get?", George asked, peering into the bags
"IT, Jigsaw- the new one and 247°F", poppy replied."We should definitely watch them later", George smiled, excitement glinting in his eyes.
"Yeah, we can go back to mine, seeing as my parents won't be home till tomorrow morning", I offered. We spent a few hours in the park, messing around and playing games. The guys decided to film a cover and rang Josh to meet them, me, Poppy and Abi went back into the mall until they were finished.
Cause they're just girls
Breaking hearts
Eyes wide
Uptight
Just girls
Well she can't be what you need if she's-"Hello?", I answered, picking up my phone and silencing my favourite song by the 1975.
"Hey, we're ready to go", I smiled at George's voice at the other end of my phone.
"Cool, we'll meet you at the car in five minutes", I said. He hung up and we made our way back to the car.
