George sighed a frustrated sigh as the guitar suddenly felt heavy in his arms. He wanted to throw it down, splinter it and never pick it back up again.

He had been trying to learn chords for a new cover, but it wasn't working out and he kept messing up the bridge.

He pinched the bridge of his nose tightly, feeling tears slowly bloom, his emotions getting the better of him.
Sometimes he just felt like he wasn't good enough, and it stung.

Reece entered the hotel room, unaware of the state of his best friend. He was holding two pairs of jeans, black and blue denim, and he couldn't decide which to wear.
He held them up to the light, still not seeing how upset George was and asked "which ones G?"

George glanced up and shrugged, as if he didn't care, but in reality he loved it when Reece wore those black jeans, he liked the fit of them on him.
Reece drank in the sight of the younger boy in front of him and moved closer, crouching down to where George was sitting so that they were eye to eye. George laid the guitar down and tried desperately to forget everything except for Reece, nothing mattered except for Reece.

"G?", he questioned softly, "what's up?"
George shrugged again, he didn't know what was wrong. It was one stupid song, but the past few weeks he's been feeling worse and worse and little things like messing up a chord have been getting him down. He just didn't feel good, at all.

Reece's heart melted at the sight of George's eyes, glistening with pain and tears.
"Is it that stupid song?", Reece asked, he knew George had been learning the song this morning, but didn't know he had been trying this hard or for this long, to be perfect.

George only nodded, thinking about how Reece wouldn't get it. Reece didn't need to try, he was effortlessly perfect and everyone melted at him. His face, his voice, his instrument, everything about him was flawless and at that moment George felt inadequate.

"Don't worry about it, please Georgie, and don't let it get you down" Reece advised. George had the sudden urge to wrap his arms around the oldest band member.

"Can I have a hug?", George mumbled and before he knew it he was in Reece's arms, where he suddenly felt okay.

His tears dried almost instantly as he felt Reece's hands move across his back in comforting motions, and he felt good enough. Reece made him feel worthy again. Reece built up his self esteem, with one simple hug.

Imagine what a kiss would do, George thought and then gasped quietly, did he mean that?

"What?", Reece asked, reacting to the smaller boys gasp.
"Umm.. it's nothing", George blushed, embarrassed at the thought he had just had and even more embarrassed that it wasn't the first time he felt that towards Reece.

"You can tell me", Reece pressed gently, curious as to why George had unexpectedly gasped, like he got a fright.
"It's... no.. it's embarrassing", George muttered, trying to hide his face in Reece's t shirt so he couldn't see the look on his face. Reece could read him like a book and right now George didn't want Reece to know what's on his mind.

"Please?", Reece pouted and there went George's imagination again. He watched Reece's lips pull into the most adorable pout and imagined the feel of them on his. He shuddered at the thought and cursed quietly.

He tried to find the words, but he tripped over them and stuttered again and again.
"I'm... god.. i really really don't know how to say this", he took a deep breath, Reece's intent look levelling him enough to continue, this was Reece, he wouldn't judge him.

"Umm... I hope.. i mean...I hope you don't hate me for this", George shuddered and became overwhelmed with the thought of Reece ever hating him, but it was a brief sensation as Reece was quick to assure what he already knew to be true, "I could never hate you G", Reece said with a contented smile.

George's mind slipped off its track of thought for a second, distracted once again by Reece's smile and it took him a moment to remember what he was trying to say. He shook images of Reece from his mind and tried again.

"Umm.. I really don't have the words for this", he gulped, and then chuckled nervously, "how about i show you instead?", he whispered breathily, contemplating his next move, he couldn't, could he?

Reece's eyes narrowed curiously as he watched George move closer to him.
The younger boy stood on his tiptoes, eyes level with Reece and Reece only realised what was happening the same time he felt George's lips on his.

They were soft, silky soft, and moved timidly, barely brushing his. He was too shocked to react at first, but then George started to pull away and Reece realised he wasn't ready for it to be over yet.

Reece wrapped his arm around George's waist and pulled him back to him again, enjoying the warmth and feeling of his body against George's.

Reece reconnected their lips and George kissed him back softly. The kiss wasn't heated, it was slow and beautiful and just what they both needed.

George could feel whatever it was that was broken inside him fix as he kissed Reece. He could feel a tiny amount of that flawlessness he saw in Reece transfer onto himself, through the bridge of their lips and he was filled with what he could only describe as light.

As the kiss ended and they both pulled away, George flashed Reece a blinding smile, and Reece reciprocated immediately.

"I can't believe..", George started but he couldn't find the words to finish, all he could find inside of him was Reece. The feel of Reece and the taste of Reece preoccupied all of him and he didn't mind.

"I know", Reece replied, his head still lost in the kiss that was already finished. It seemed neither of them could comprehend the feeling, yet they were both feeling exactly the same thing.

Reece hadn't realised that George was what he needed, his medicine, right there all along. George had knew he needed Reece, it just took the courage to act on it.

There was a peaceful silence until George picked back up his guitar. He began to play the song he had been getting annoyed with earlier.

It went flawless and when he reached the bridge he felt confident, he didn't feel anxious like he had before, maybe he could do it now.

He played every note perfectly and afterwards Reece broke out clapping while George broke out into a grin. He did it! He did it, thanks to a strength he had found hidden in Reece.
