At the beginning of all of this. It was just the three of us; Caleb, Jinxx, and I. We were moving from place to place as we went long before we had met Lynne, Bella, or Echo.

We met a man, his name was James and he was with us for a while after we met him. He was the one to tell me that family was everything anyone had left in this world.

We were sat down, the night before he left us, and ate deer from the kill I'd gotten during the day.

"When the old world is left in ash all that will be left is the people who are able to become family to survive." He told us and the next day I was the one to kill him as he tried to kill Caleb over an argument they had.

Either way he might have been crazy, but he taught me that to survive in this world you were going to need family.

That's how we're going to make it through all of this. Together.

A smile came back to my face as laughter filled the room. I was setting the table with Mark, my hand only slightly pulsing with pain as we went around.

"Hey. I'm fine with you two getting off, but please just shut the Hell up." I said, making the group laugh as Jinxx sent me a look and Caleb rolled his eyes.

Laughter. It was one of the many things that brought joy to people's lives. You laugh away the troubles. You laugh away the worries that fill you on a day to day basis.

Based on everything that's happened, we really needed it. Lynne came out a minute later with the food and I stood up, placing a kiss on Mark's cheek as I looked to Lynne.

"I'll go get Bella." I said, making Lynne nod her head as they set up the table.

Smiling, I walked towards the stairs and up them to Bella's room. The hallway was dark as we had turned off the lights by the windows as to not draw attention.

Walking up to her room, I reached up and knocked on her door with a smile. "Bella? Darlin' it's dinner time." I said and waited for a moment before reaching to the doorknob when no one answered.

The room was dark and quiet and I felt my heart stop when I saw no one was in the room. No Bella, no one. I felt my heart pick up a bit as I look around the room for her to see if she was just playing a game.

"Bella?" I ask, panic filling my voice. "Bella if this is a game it's not funny." I said, my hands shaking as it clicked that she wasn't here.

I don't think I've ever taken off running so fast in my life then I did when I ran down the stairs. Everyone looked to me as I stumbled over the last step, out of breath and on the edge of a panic attack.

"Luna?" Caleb and Mark asked as they looked to me, Mark standing up and walking over to me. "What's wrong Dove?" Mark asked, pushing my hair out of my face.

"Bella's missing."
