as i pulled open the door, there stood aislinn looking down at her feet like she was embarrassed to be up here.
"yeah?.." i ask
"can i talk to you?" she asks
"uh..yeah sure.." i say slowly
i open the door more so she can come in and then shut it once she's in. she takes a seat on one of the chairs that's in our room and stares at me.
"what's up?" i ask
"you're hiding something." she simply states
"what are you talking about?.." i ask
"the letters max. what's going on? even harvey has noticed you're been getting an unusual amount of letters." she says
"is it wrong to get letters?" i ask in defense
"no..but..you seem so secretive about them." she says
"okay and? it's my business, i don't need to be sharing it with the whole world." i say getting angry
"max, we're just trying to help you." aislinn says calmly
"i don't need help! i'm sixteen years old!" i snap
aislinn sighs and then nods, respecting my need for space.
"okay." she says quietly
i watch as she wanders back out of the room without another word or glance. i close my eyes and plop back into the chair.
of course i don't mean to snap at aislinn like that, but i really don't want them knowing yet. harvey would flip his shit and he would tell mom and mom would do the same thing. i would probably lose any means of communication i have left with her.
i sigh deeply trying to figure this out when i hear loud heavy footsteps on the stairs. i begin to wonder who could that be, no one has that loud of footsteps. i get up to check the hallway when our door bangs open, almost making a hole in our wall. harvey stands in the doorway with an annoyed and angry look on his face while aislinn stands shyly behind him rubbing the side of her arm.
